Rest In Peace Dolores - you are a trail blazer and done the Irish proud. Deepest sympathy to your family. When i heard the news it brought it all back to April 21/2016. Its a fact that rock n roll is the most dangerous profession in the world

So I never do this (or I never admit to it), but I’ve just downloaded Dreams and Linger and the twenty year old version of myself is now in my living room singing at the top of his voice. R.I.P.

I am beyond saddened to hear this devestating news this morning that Dolores O'Riordan passed away!! I am just in a state of shock right now. She was such a beautiful person, inside and out and she had the voice of an angel. She wasn't hung-up on fame and fortune. She was a wonderful Mother and Daughter. My heart and prayers are with her children and her family and band members. She was so young and had so much to look forward to in life and seeing her children grow. They were planning tour dates for the U.S. The first time I got to see Dolores perform, I was blown away. Her voice never faltered. She was and will always be one of the greatest Icons this world has ever seen. She was such an inspiration for other female artist's and aspiring singers. I always thought of her as my long-lost Irish Sister! I will miss her more than words can every say!! Dolores: May you rest in God's eternal love.

Never was a fan of 'The Cranberries' but their music and Dolores voice was a part of my early childhood in some way cuz older sister had some of their songs constatly playing in late 90's. Sad news. RIP.

Same age as me... That's a little scary... I never really followed them, but I remember Zombie being a big hit. RIP...

Linger and Zombie seem to be the songs people remember the most, and yet it’s the simple beauty of Dreams that comes to my mind when I think of the Cramberries. They also take me back to my university years, and remind me of some very specific people who I loved dearly back then. I know it’s selfish to say this, but another piece of my past that’s sadly gone.

I'll be fifty this year. I cannot fathom how a vibrant forty-six-year-old woman is dead like that. I fear, as I always do, that it will be drug related. I hope it's not, but it is rock n' roll after all. It's the #2 reason I hate Prince dying - it was just so pedestrian. Rock star dead on drugs. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

We're all a bit sad about it over here in Ireland, she was one of our own, and from Limerick no less - you don't get any help up the fame ladder when you're from Limerick.

i have to say - i missed out on the 90s music alot .... i was totally into the Prince scene and his related artists etc but the Cranberries were one of those groups that i did enjoy ... i remember their second album getting worn out in my car cd etc ...

I can't listen to her sing without crying! She had such a beautiful, soulful and angelic voice! I was listening to "You and Me", and "When you're Gone", and could not help but break down in tears! I will miss her!! . . .

. I turned 50 this year and hearing this terrible news about Dolores' untimely passing really hit me like a ton of bricks!! So, we turn 50 and it's all downhill from there??!! . They are saying her death is not suspicious, but I'm starting to worry that it was drug-related, like you said. Given the fact that she has been struggling with back pain after a skiing accident in 1994, it's starting to look too eerily like what happened to Prince, imo. . She was also struggling with depression after she lost her Father in 2011, and on top of a divorce, depression and sexual abuse as a child. She tried to overdose in 2013 and I hope this was not the case this time. She had a lot of personal struggles and her music was her therapy, much like it was for Prince. My heart goes out to her Mother, whom she was very close too and she leaves behind 3 children. Just terrible. Such a sad loss.

. She knew from a child that she would be a rock star. She had the gift. I always admired her strength and not letting fame go to her head. She was such a beautiful person; so real and no bullshit about her, at all. They had a lot of incredible songs, but "Linger", "Zombie" and "Dreams" really gave them international success. Dolores was incredible. Sad to see we are losing some of the greatest artists of our time.

http://www.dailymail.co.u...night.html . Images and short video of last night's birthday party for Shane MacGowan of The Pogues which became a makeshift memorial/celebration of Dolores. Attendees included Bono, Sinead O'Connor, Imelda May, Nick Cave, Cerys Matthews, actors Cillian Murphy and Johnny Depp amongst others. . I am hopeful that seeing Dolores struggle and its outcome may help folks like O'Connor whom are afflicted with mental illness as a result of experienced trauma. It makes me feel good to see Sinead there smiling and in good spirits at such a dark moment, although it would be sweeter if Dolores was there as well. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Dolores O'Riordan: Cranberries' Noel Hogan Talks Singer's Life and LegacyExcerpt: My earliest memory of Dolores singing is the first day I met her [in 1990]. We used to rehearse in a local studio in Limerick called Xeric. Dolores came in to hear us play and we got to hear her sing. She had a small keyboard that she set up and sang a few songs she had written. We were all blown away that this small girl from Limerick had such an amazing voice. The fact that she wasn't already in a band was a miracle. In my opinion, what made Dolores connect with people was her honesty. What you saw was what you got. In the early days, the band was very shy; especially Dolores. She sang with her back to the audience but sang songs that people could relate to. There was no big act. I don’t think people were used to this, and it seemed to resonate with them. I’m not sure at what point Dolores accepted fame, or if she ever did. We would get a great kick out of it all, as if it were someone else that people were coming to see or talk about. Dolores was a very private person under it all. It was like she went to work and became Dolores the public version, then went home and lived her life away from all that. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
