He was working with Nile Rodgers? My interest is piqued.

How can it be new, he has been dead for 9 months, it is at least 9 months old unless they hooked up a microphone to a zombified corpse.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

You know that when most living artists release "new" singles that the songs are rarely ever "new", right? Chances are, the song was recorded months prior to its release. Just because George Michael is dead doesn't mean new songs can't be released. New songs can't be recorded but any previously unreleased material does qualify as a new release.

Judging by the snippet is a New remix of Fantasy (the old b-side) sad. Bit still yay!

How long has it been since "they" hooked up a microphone to your zomibfied corpse... confused

Yeah, not totally new. The remix really changes the vibe of the song, and I'm not a fan of that. The original is just fine. It was never on my radar that much long ago but the Live In London bluray a few years ago put it on the map for me. I love the song.

New single, just not new music.

I actually prefer the remix. The original is one of the few George Michael songs I just couldn't listen to. The horn was too much for me. The new version isn't perfect but it's already grown on me quite a bit.

Im a big fan of the original. Still listen to it now and then. On first listen the remix takes away the energy of the original. Its like the I'm Your Man remix.

I like this better than the original. The rhythm guitar playing kind of gives me a Faith vibe. Was excited to hear something completely new though. I thought it might have been a song he was working on before he died.

Unfortunately I never heard the original version from 1990 till 8 years later when he put it on the "Ladies & Gentlemen" compilation.

Of course there was a '98 version on the "Outside" single, that was the one I first became familiar with... but this new version is cool, too.

Yeah, it's a shame it's nothing new, but it's better than nothing.

I'll have to get used to this one... "Fantasy" is one of my favorites from GM, but it's hard to even call it "Fantasy" without the signature horns. No way does this touch the original for me.

.
You mean the 96 one, that was the b-side to Fastlove? I actually quite like that one, it's got this smooth mellow groove where the original is straight up Motown throwback, in the same vein as Freedom and CC's Church of the Poison Mind.
.
But yeah, I do think this Fantasy remix kinda pulls the oomph out of the original. Maybe it has to grow on me.

I feel like the 96 mix of I'm your man also takes the oomph out of it. Although its a nice remix. He did do both versions with Live 25.

I loved the "Fastlove/I'm Your Man" mash-up. In early shows, he didn't do that version, but in the 2nd leg of the tour, he totally changed the set list up (which is what appeared on the DVD). I like it much better.

One thing I noticed in the show, that a couple of the background singers (who are Christian) wouldn't actually sing "goddamn". You can see them skip the word when they move into the "who da man who da man goddaaamn" section. I think it's the Perry sisters that skip it. That BluRay is everything. "I'd know him a mile off and that is not George Michael!"
