Maybe it was the 12" version of You Can't Win, in which part of it was later retitled Can't Get Out Of The Rain.

y'all are going off topic. Just looking for 1st recorded appearance of it. So far, people are saying "Blame it on the boogie?"

All it saying is I believe Marvin is a huge vocal influence on the way MJ approached it. His timing, cadence and ad libs. One night I was up listening to some post-Destiny jams. I kept trying to call "where have I heard these kind of sounds before", then it hit me. Marvin Gaye like a mofo.
