Radiohead OK Computer 20th anniversary reissue

source

Radiohead will include three previously unreleased songs – "I Promise," "Lift" and "Man of War" – on OKNOTOK, a new release celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1997 landmark LP, OK Computer. OKNOTOK arrives June 23rd via XL Recordings, while a boxed edition will ship in July.

Along with the three unreleased songs, OKNOTOK will include a remastered version of OK computer and eight b-sides. All songs are newly remastered from the original analog tapes.

OKNOTOK
will be available digitally, as a double CD set and a triple LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl. The expanded box set will boast the triple LP, as well as a C90 cassette mix tape compiled by the band and taken from the OK Computer session archives and demo tapes. The box set will also include a hardcover book packed with unreleased artwork and lyrics, a notebook filled with Thom Yorke's handwritten OK Computer-era notes and a sketchbook featuring work from Donwood and Tchock, the pen names of Radiohead's go-to artistic collaborator Stanley Donwood and Yorke, respectively.

Pre-orders for all formats are available via Radiohead's website.

Dasein

I remember when this album came out, most of my musician pals' jaws hit the floor. There has not
been an album released since then that has caused as much excitement and awe and fear amongst
them.

Well, I think D'Angelo's Voodoo did the same with my R&B/jazz/soul musician friends. But yeah, the
pop and avant-garde kids I used to hang out with went absolutely nuts over OKC. I think it is a re-
markable album.

the cassette comes with a download(code) in the deluxe box. i wonder what will be
on that since they don't mention specific tracks or such. but whatever it is, it's good
stuff, i'm sure.

excited

also great to finally get "lift", "i promise" and "man of war (big boots)" woot!

i wonder if we'll get one of these boxes for kidamnesiac because THAT would be a
thing to make me explode with excitement.

but for now, i'm excited and happy that we're getting this release. also curious how
much of an improvement this album can get out of a remaster since it sounds good
to begin with. but knowing radiohead it won't simply be 'louder' and be done with
some finesse.

bring on june 23rd!

From Wikipedia:

On 2 May 2017, Radiohead announced a 20th-anniversary OK Computer reissue, OKNOTOK. The reissue includes a remastered version of the original album, plus eight B-sides and three unreleased tracks: "I Promise," "Man of War", and "Lift".

The boxed edition includes the album on vinyl, a hardcover art book, a book of Yorke's notes, a sketchbook of Donwood and Yorke’s "preparatory work", and a cassette with
OK Computer demo and session tapes.

The digital version will be released on 23 June 2017, with physical editions shipping in July. Radiohead promoted the reissue with posters around the world featuring "cryptic" messages and the years 1997 and 2017, and a teaser video featuring "glitchy" computer graphics and lyrics from "Climbing Up the Walls".
