He deserves awards for outstanding music just because he gets many women to buy his albums.

My point is that despite being mediocre he has legitimate receipts, (i.e. hits, best selling album) so imo he deserves nominations/accloades for those things that he earned unlike some other pop stars who gets nominations and awards for no reason or just because of who they are.

He is making it on his looks and it will not last it never does. No one will remember his receipts in a few years.

Your right (I agree with everything you are saying, I am not a Drake fan)

However, at least he has hits that woud potentially warrant a award nomination compared to other pop stars who buy their nominations and awards.

This post is all kinds of contradictory!

Either you think Drake is overrated like "all these pop stars suck and are overrated" or "he should
be receiving more accolades than he actually receives" - but you can't have both, Carousal!

The special thing about Drake, in my opinion, is that he's the dude next door who made it big off
of being just a little bit more talented than the next kid. He's not spectacularly good looking; he's
not spectaculary gifted as a lyricist; he's not spectacularly gifted as a performer. In an age where
most of our R&B/rapper types portray "that life", Drake is about fucking chicks softly while listening
to Luther Vandross records, and this is a breath of fresh air in some respects. Ironically, what's
special about Drake is that he's not special at all.

If you think he deserves nominations and accolades for things he's earned, then he's not overrated,
which contradicts your original post.

Carousal, you're on something. blunt stoned

First of all, nobody "buys" nominations and/or awards. Sure, there is certainly payola in the record-
ing arts industry and music business, but you can't "buy" a Grammy or Oscar or AMA. Secondly, the
time when the general US population cared about those awards has passed. The gravity attached to
the Grammys and Oscars and AMAs and MTV awards and BET awards is over.

I used like him but fell off 2012 I just don't feel his music anymore. But he's really popular he's the male Rihanna to me don't expect musical greatness from them just a lot of hit songs.

My point is that there are other pop stars that are more overrated than him, pop stars that receive awards, hype and accloades for doing nothing. AT LEAST when it comes to certain things like hits and sales he has the receipts that could possibly warrant a award nomination. For example, Hot Bling was a smash hit and it didn't win anything while other songs that weren't hits won over it. In a case like that (for example), Drake should have won but I don't think this way about Drake specifically. I feel this way about all pop stars and singers. Singers and artists should be awarded for things they actually earned whether it be due to merit (grammy's) or sales (Billboards). They shouldn't be given awards" just because" and I don't think Drake receives exessive unwarranted accolades unlike other more overrated pop stars.

Speaking of drake. Let's talk about how Drake ghost writes and steals from other artist. Everyone knows signing to ovo is a death sentence as your album will never come out and your best stuff will end up on drakes album. The most recent thievery of mr drizzy drake was xxxtentacion. Drake copied Look at me xxxtentacion flow for kmt. He also copied big Sean flow on a couple songs. He thinks he can get away with it because xxxtentacion is 19 and a soundcloud artist but fans aren't having it. And just like Nicki Minaj drake over sensitive ass do a lot of talking behind the scenes. He got in his feelings about Kendricks control verse and started talking shit. That's why Kendrick came at his head in the heart or 4. I'm not drake is talentless because he's not but he is overrated for the quality of music he puts out in proportion to his success it don't add up.

I just think it's fun and sorta bittersweet that in 2017 America's top "artist" is a dude nicknamed after a Goose.

Honest to gawd........ I don't know, his last complete solid album was Take Care. That album was solid but lately I don't know what to tell you besides his songs make good internet #Memes. Different generation with millennials and the age of social media era. Back then you watched music videos and TV shoes on TV channels now you have dailymotion, YouTube, Google Video, Hulu, Vevo, IHeart, Iphones, Samsungs Galaxy Pads, and etc.... along with a generation who's spoiled and have the attention span of 4 seconds. I'm a millennial, will be 32 on Saturday 8th of April so trust me when I say I don't know why drake is special let alone Trey, August, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Adam Levine, and Adele. Just like in the 80's I don't know why Janet, Madonna, The Eagles, AC/DC, Starship, and plenty others was so special. Every generation and decade have their own special artist or artists that they adore due to how the individual or group music touched them.

So on that note please don't be mad at the artist I said above, I listen to all of them lol. Please beat me up too bad org family.

He's good looking? That's news to me.

This guy is overrated. You could take any guy off the street, put him in a studio, and have over produced beats and you'd have another Drake, easily!

If nothing else, Drake deserves a pass for redeeming Versace by Migos - surely the most annoying track in Hiphop!

I really enjoy the music of Nick Drake, very pretty, sweet , humble , melancholy music. Some say ahead of its time, music from the 70s I Think. Life in a Northern Time reflects his sound, think they may have been sourcing him with this song, have to google , I Forget

But NICK DRAKE well worth the listen

'Road' from 'Pink Moon' is one of my favourites smile
