the thing is,disco was FUN and lively.....unlike the boring,midtempo,hip-hop-inspired R&B of today.

If you like disco I'd advise you to check out the album "Sumthin Like This" by Cool Million. I think there's something very comforting in knowing that great disco/funk albums are still being made these days.

Rhino Records put out a great disco box set years back, called oddly enough "The Disco Box". Covered most of thee big songs from the early 1970s to the early 1980s (except the Bee Gees , who they probably were unable to license). Not sure if it is still in print , but worth searching for

.

EXACTLY, SoulAlive..

disco music IS festive - it makes you want to dance & have a party.

I don't know how anyone can dance to that "mid-tempo" music you referenced - I of course don't even try to dance to that, much less listen to it..

I'll see you tonight..

I love good disco, so many great tracks to get you moving (interestingly I found loads of undiscovered classics on the Gran Theft Auto IV disco radio channel) ...

... but nothing sucks quite like a bad disco song biggrin
