I don't quite understand how you are "not sure why you take having an opinion as acting like
"your a god"". Yes, you have a right to postulate about anything you want. But when you

start acting like your postulation is definitive and when you start acting like you can determine
people's true and real motivations, you're acting like you can read minds a la God.

But you and SoulAlive cannot read minds; y'all can't say definitively what truly motivates
Kanye West or anybody else to say the things that they say or do the things that they do. The
fact remains that there are plenty of "disobedient musicians" in pop culture today who are just
as vocal as the pop stars of yester-year were. The author of the article was talking outta his
arsehole, and y'all clearly do not respect most pop stars of today, so anything they do or don't
do, you will criticize. Most pop stars are just like everybody else on this planet when it comes to
causes they believe in: they will voice an opinion. It is RARE for someone to give their life over
for a cause or lose their job for a cause. So, I just think this idea that pop stars in the 60s, 70s,
80s, and 90s who were willing to die for their cause and faced death for their cause and were
willing to lose their career for a cause and are therefore, more rebellious, is just silly.

But who cares if Kanye West is truly pro-Trump or not? The fact remains that he's publicly voiced his
support for him and as a Black American pop star, this is rebellious. Why we are judging a pop star's
authentic devotion to a political cause is waaaaaay beyond me!
It's not "rebellious" to say and do things strictly for your own self-serving reasons.I bet that Kanye isn't even into politics at all lol He used to be known as a credible artist, but now he's just a tabloid celebrity, married to a Kardashian (the biggest media whores of all).Nothing rebellious about these type of people.

Who the hell cares about Kanye West's true motivations? The fact remains he did/said what he
did, and it was rebellious!

I'm not gonna argue with some stranger about Kanye West's intentions and motivations. rolleyes

When you rebel and stand for a cause you are doing it for something bigger than yourself.

Okay, and how does this support the notion that the disobedient musician is an endangered
species? How does this support the notion that today's pop stars are not as rebellious as
yesterday's pop stars?

The Dixie Chicks lost their career for taking a stand against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,
but I can't think of any other pop musician(s) who actually lost their life or their career due to
a political stance. In fact, this notion that the Dixie Chicks' career is over is not true, so I can't
think of ANYBODY who has been so rebellious that they are:

a) physically dead

b) creatively and/or professionally dead

Y'all up in here trippin'!

I personally like progression and not clinging on to the past so im not nostalgic to relive superstars of the past. Im not thrilled with todays music though but I like the change and growth.

I absolutely agree with this post 99%.

I would say " . . . but I appreciate the change and growth despite not being a fan of it." But you
are on point, Heath.
