George Michael - unreleased "Trojan Souls" ft. Wendy Melvoin

In 1993 GM was working on an album that seems largely a duets project. I recall seeing this talked about on the early internet but then evaporating. Here's the track list.

The Trojan Souls CD:

This Kind of Love (6:13)
Maybe It’s Not Your Time (instrumental) (4:50)
One Day I’ll Know (4:00)
You Slipped Away From Me ( George's 1st Take ) (5:31)
Wendy Melvoin’s Song (instrumental) (6:33)
Seal’s Song (instrumental) (6:29)
W.T.F. (Sade’s Song) (instrumental) (6:19)
Stevie Wonder’s Song (instrumental) (6:56)
Galaxy (instrumental) (5:51)
Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now (4:39)
Janet Jackson’s Song (instrumental) (5:25)

I've tried for years to track down "The Trojan Souls" but 'till now found only for sale on CDR.

Probably now, sooner or later, it will turn up, maybe with the LWP Vol. 2 original tracks.

Unfortunately, let me add. Absolutely unfortunately.

Heard a couple of these songs a while back from a friend. Some of the stuff he was writing for other artists and were instrumentals. It was coo.

This Kind of Love is all over the place including demo sessions with Elton John.

Very nice... thanks for sharing.
His voice sounds fantastic.
Wish somebody could have helped him with his challenges.

I remember seeing documentary footage of the making of this Trojan Souls album, with Wendy in it. I think it was linked from the org, a few years ago.

It was a few hours worth, uncut film from studio time, if I remember correctly. There was a shot of George and Anselmo arriving at the studio in a convertible in it. There was also a short conversation with Wendy asking what she and Lisa were up to (writing) and what label they were on (Warner Brothers). George then said: "this is also going out on Warner Brothers".

They seemed to be working on one song most of the time. I remember Wendy playing a certain riff over and over again. There was also a scene with George explaining to a couple (3 or 4) backgroundsingers what he wanted and harmonizing with them.

Pretty sure that guy he was in the car with was his boyfriend who died of AIDS and sent him into a major depression. I don't think Michael was ever quite the same after that.

I leaked all of this a couple of years ago so people wouldn't have to buy it. And the George's cousin threatend to sue me, but he's a cunt.

Don't buy bootlegs.
