I´m not really into his music but he seems to be a genuinely nice and humble person, and I like the fact that he respects and appreciates Prince. I remember that note that Prince wrote and gave him and how proud Bruno was. Unlike many other artists who took him for granted and probably didn´t even know his music.

Yes, that´s the note I meant.

I absolutely love this !

Prince was such an egomaniac and yet, especially in his later years, so very humble and down to earth and grateful.

He probably never wanted to be anyone´s hero but he will always be one of the most uplifting, most inspiring, most positive, most influential persons in my life.

I am not sure how much of his ego was real or for show Some of the things we are hearing from people who really knew him makes me think he knew he was one of the best of his craft but he had some insecurities as well. I mean he was a dude so he was not going to let anyone in the public see him as weak but I think that a lot of what we saw was image.

There´s an interview from the Emancipation era where he mentions that he used to have a massive ego, and he even repeats the word "massive" .

I think it was in NME magazine but I´m not 100% sure. He said it during one of those meetings with the press when Emancipation was released.

THIS!

He was such a m-effer until at least middle age...but then he mellowed soooo much as he matured to near senior status (and became more grounded in his spiritual walk).

Bruno is a talented young cat who clearly loves the art of clear and true music making. We don't have a lot of young folks out here in mainstream music who are cognizant and disciplined enough to actually learn and master the art form, so if he is inspired by the elders who came before and paved the way for him to pick up the torch and carry it as far as his little legs will allow, then I say have at it, and make sure you make space to tell those coming behind you about the musical giants upon whose shoulders you stand.

I would love to see him take a stab at some music with more substantial themes, although his "fun" music has a place, too.

I agree and I am confident that more substantial material will come with maturity and experience. We can see from the way Prince is treated how difficult it can be for an artist to follow their own vision when so many fans refuse to let them grow.

I hope they don't do that to Bruno.

He's good at channeling an aggressive/primal energy (like in the song runaway baby) but for whatever reason he's not an emotional/sentimental type

There's no venom in my words I was merely expressing a very popular point of view about Bruno he's a revivalist artist nothing more nothing less. I give him this at least he's better than The Weeknd although I find the sentiment in The Weeknd's work to be more personal or authentic if you will.

WHAT? lol

Also how is someone less authentic just cause they like to make old sounds? That doesn't make sense. You guys kill me with this weird ass "logic".
