LP Covers for my friends 30th birthday

Ok musicheads on the org, can you help me out?

I'm celebrating my friends birthday by giving him the best gift together with my roommate. We are going to buy a LP-Player and some records to go with it. Now I'm already buying him Off The Wall, Thriller and Songs In The Key Of Life. Maybe a Funkadelic/Parliament record also. Now the dilemma is that he's a bit of an asshole regarding Prince and the .org. He says that Prince came out with records at exactly the wrong period of time because of MJ's success in the 80's. Now I'm a huge fan of MJ (I just happen to be a even bigger fan of Prince), but I know he's just saying that to piss me off. Now, I often refers Prince.org as a inspiration for findning new music which he laughes at, because everone who knows music clearly wouldn't hang out on a Prince forum because of MJ's success, and he states "that every musician would agree with me". To the point, I would love to show him off bigtime with a series of LP's that would've blown his mind. His very limited to disco music and disco house in particular. Why not widen his mind with some great records with a kickass cover on the front also. I'm thinking alot from the 70's and 80's. I'm limiting myself to about 3-4 records beyond OTW, Thriller and SITKOL. Would you please help me quickly since his party is coming about soon. Not just disco. In my note to him it will read "Quality approval and greetings from Prince.org"

Funkadelic's Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow should do the trick. That will blow his mind for sure! If you want to go easy on your mate, you could try Funkadelic's One Nation Under a Groove or Mothership Connection by Parliament. All of those have great sleeve designs too.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

We're almost set to make this happen in a few weeks. So some more inputs would be great to see. You really got me inspired. This gift in front of all people will be, by far, the best on the party, and you guys within the .org community will be mentioned as a major force of putting together all this, believe me. cool
