Eric Benet is reemerging this fall with a new, self-titled album that he promises will be an authentic and "true representation" of himself.

Benet, whose last studio project was The One in 2012, tells ABC Radio that fans can expect his signature style on his upcoming release. "I like to keep doing the same d*** thing just get better at it every time, you know. I'm an R&B soul singer and I'd like to hopefully evolve with every project that I make. And make it, continue to make it, real, raw and live and vulnerable an beautiful every time," he says.

In May, Benet dropped the album's lead single, "Sunshine," along with a studio performance video of the song. According to the singer, the single, which climbed to number eight on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, captures the essence of his new project.

Benet tells ABC Radio, "If you like that live instrumentation and no Auto-Tune, great arrangement, horn arrangement, string arrangement feel of "Sunshine,"then you are absolutely have to have this album."

While the R&B star is gearing up for a fall tour with Anthony Hamilton and Lalah Hathaway, Benet reveals he's not at all concerned with the expectations of the label. "I don't really put like these pressures on myself to outdo this or outdo that. I think when I'm in the studio and if I feel the goosebumps, I feel like I'm successful," he explains. To Benet it's all about being true to himself -- and that's the exact reason why his album is called Eric Benet. "It is such a quintessential and true representation of myself for the first time, I had to self-title this album Eric Benet."
