Who watched the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Yesterday?

I missed it. If you watched the show, discuss in detail.

From what I've heard it was a lot of well compensated veteran "performers", some fed silver spoons during and since their maturation into adults, celebrating ancillary means for promoting their brand via albums, some even receiving statues for the most effective and/or provocative videos. I don't pay for TV let alone cable, its 2016. This is like watching an award show for the best cassette A-side.

I saw some harsh comments on FB and Instagram about the show.

Was there a Prince tribute?

I don't think anyone had anything relating to Prince laid out in their contracted media segments for this program.

I did see a reality star that is also a porn star wearing a Wonder Woman costume to the red carpet on TMZ.

Former MTV news personality turned "serious journalist" Alison Stewart reflects on almost two decades of Britney Spears:

Didn't watch but I heard that aside from Beyonce (of course) the show was lackluster and only further proved that the VMAs are meaningless and the show's best days have passed.

Actually, that is incorrect. MTV is Alison Stewart. The person who wrote the article is AlLison Stewart (two Ls).

I shot MTV girl a tweet about it, and it wasn't her. It's another Allison Stewart. Apparently, she knows OF her since they share a name. But yeah - two different folks.

Kanye gave a rambling pointless speech.
Beyonce did a big angry production number & changed clothes numerous times
Rihanna did numerous numbers & also had numerous costume changes
Brittany did her usual Vegas stripper act
Lots of other acts did big production performances - nothing special
Beyonce won a bunch of awards

I had idea what the hell Kanye was saying. He was like the homeless person that comes up to you where people politely listen hoping he goes away.

Other than I love listening and watching the performances.
