To clear some things up. This is a new era. AWARD SHOWS have very little to almost no impact on sales. This is why performers do the wacked out shit, because it is now about views and tweets and likes and just getting the name out there. No one buys this shit anymore. Barbra Striesand is going to have a number one album in another week, you think she gives two shits about the VMA show? She can sit at home or pop up on a talk show for 3 minutes and that impacts her. No one cares about these artists out now, its so see through, IM SORRY to bring reality, but this whole idea of sales and shit is so over and done with. The veterans are still bailing out this industry, the Springsteens, Striesands etc with new albums are selling 10-1 over the artist of the day, its done folks.

And on a SHOW note. I could really care less about the performances I watched two and they stunk. But WTF is with the sound on these shows?? Why is there echo? ALso why can I hear the audience over the artists? they are actually louder, perhaps to cover bad vocals or no vocals.

Besides being boring, these award shows are super fake now. They just give out awards to who ever they wan too shrug

I am not a huge Rihanna or Drake fan but Hot Bling and Work were some of the biggest singles this year and they did not get not one award tonight eek They were number one hits for over 2 months on the pop charts. MTV did not give them not one award for any of the categories they were in! Its pretty clear sales and charts has no baring in today's industry and the music industry is primarily driven by payola and politics.

I heard they didn't even acknowledge PRINCE who was a pivotal artist in putting MTV on the map during its hey day. Fuq MTV, they are grossly disrespectful.

Yes I sat through the mess that has become the MTV Awards......Prince deserves better and I thought they were gonna do right by him (after all when he passed away, they played some of his songs etc) and instead they shunned him, an important pioneer too. Straight up BS. sigh

Hey there smile I'm glad to see you here in this thread smile I haven't been able to bring myself to watch any tributes but the fact that MTV did NOTHING was just awful. History repeats itself, they hated Prince in the early 80s and then didn't pay respects in 2016.....bookends. But on a happier note, thank God BeYAWNce didn't get the tribute as trolls were lying saying it had "been reported". Perhaps the Purple Army sent ugly/hateful messages to MTV saying if she did the tribute they'd refuse to watch or something!

Trolls be gone!

Hey sis! I miss seeing you here!

I think Beyonce did have a long performance segment and apparently she has the most VMAs now. So she has more than MJ, Prince, and Madonna. As time goes on, the overration of her begins to become more comical and more so like a joke lol. There was a lot of pandering with her wins. I personally think a lot of her wins Rihanna and Drake should have won. They had two number one hits this year and didn't win nothing. Just further proves that there is no merit with awards now and dont mean anything. It was very disrespectful how MTV didn't even acknowledge Prince and his impact on MTV. MTV is over any way. They don't care about legends or artistry, just ratings.

Bad sound as always, terrible TECH I dont know who does these award shows but I watched two performances and I couldnt tell if it was live recording sung outside, the echo on the voices and the audiences noise feed, shit awful!

The Prince thing did not really bug me because the last thing I needed was some lame ass up there saying "give it up for Prince" like Drake or some other hack. Plus they disrespected and ignored the man pretty much over the last 20 years with the exception of that disaster of an interview with Kurt Loder in 1999 and Carson Daly on TRL during the RAVE era, awful!!! Aside from that no mention of Bowie, Glen Frey, etc...there is no respect for the past its what will you do for me now and get me ratings. MTV can go rot for all I care. However I did watch Fifth Harmony, love those girls cause they sing and actually turned down a chance to perform on the show due to LIVE restrictions that they actually would not be allowed to sing live, interesting huh!

Really? Where did you hear that?

If Fifth Harmony had better material then I may actually be a fan. Their music really doesn't allow them to show their full potential as singers.

They are coming into their own. Go see them live a few times or when they do covers of other songs and even stuff on the albums that "are not singles" which is what everyone hears. Let them grow up first they are not going to be singing Aretha material at 20 years old. I am more respectful of how the image and they have been guarded in that respect. I know people hate Simon Cowell but he really put together a good team with them, but also made sure, no BS. Five lead singers no one gets more than the other, strict guidelines to not allow outside shit to come in.

Adorecream

It is all over the news here as one of the dance groups for all these illuminati rappers and singers is led by a Maori or Islander girl called Paris Goebbels who is making a name for herself. Think a cafe coloured Missy Elliot lookalike with very thick painted lips and a really Shaniqua hood rat attitude.

.

I think she was nominated for some awards as she has made a hip hop album and this hood rat is all over the media here. In reality she is just a clone of the Shit hop industry that Polynesians love to emulate. She is a product of the mad ghettos of South Auckland and her crew are also straight from the hip hop dancing crews we have here, their crew has won world competitions, beating groups of American black rap dancers.

.

Extremely overrated and another medal ceremony for the illuminati's biggest stars - Rhianna, Beyonce and Jay Fishlips. I honestly stopped following shit hop and chart music in 1996, and it is interesting that all these artists have been at the top since the late 2000s and yet her they still are making shitty rap and dance songs with looped in beats, profanity, sex, drugs and a complete lack of any musical talent.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Fifth Harmony won Song of the Summer. I don't know how big the single was but Rihanna never touched the summer with "Work"; the song had time in the spring.
