Gabrielle live anyone?

.

I had the privilege the other night to see Gabrielle last Thursday night at the beautiful setting of Rochester Castle in Kent, England. And...it...was...GORGEOUS. In a world of female voices that shriek and wail with unnecessary vocal gymnastics it was just just beautiful to listen to a voice that doesn't ever need to do any of those things, because her voice is THAT good. She's written some great songs too, revealing someone who's been through troubled times, and how she got back on top - someone you can relate to - a lovely person.

.

So, what I'm saying is, if you get a chance to see her live, check her out. Yes, I've got a weak spot for Gabrielle, but for me, she possesses one of the most underated and best voices that the UK has ever produced.

She has gorgeous pipes and quite the catalog. I am a fan of hers on social and she is so gracious and aware of her status, its beautiful to watch really. She never really hit "big" here in the US, but I do hear her stuff a lot especially "Give Me A Little More Time" and "Dreams" in grocery stores or while out shopping. I love that song "Rise" with the Dylan sample, almost ethereal.

I love "Tell me what you dream" and "If you love me" from the "Rise" album. Check 'em out. Beautiful.

I came upon her from finding Rise Underground on vinyl at a dj shop in Philly, with some interesting and unconventional sounds. I like that she does a more traditional thing but embraced unique samples and what not. I will def look tunes those up.
