More Madonna vinyl re-issues EROTICA & BEDTIME STORIES OUT FRIDAY 8/12!!

Fyi guys...

Warner has been reissuing Madonna's catalog just like they have Prince. MADONNA, LIKE A VIRGIN, & TRUE BLUE (w/ original poster inside!), LIKE A PRAYER are all out now and EROTICA & BEDTIME STORIES out Friday.

Next up: RAY OF LIGHT & SOMETHING TO REMEMBER 9/13.

Was STR ever actually issued on vinyl before??

Ray of light was issued only in the EU before, something to remember a couple of years ago by Rhino on 180 gram vinyl

Erotica is very underrated.....I liked it. True Blue is my all-time fav cd of Madonna's.

Erotica is a great album. At the time of it's release though the general public were just done with Madonna's sexual antics. I personally enjoyed it!! It was released along with the SEX book and the BODY OF EVIDENCE. All this overshadowed the great Erotica album and it was her first real stumble after a long streak of hits

Yuuuuup it was an overload of SEX! biggrin got the book, liked the album....but Body of Evidence not so much......1.5 out of 5 popcorn lol Given good material Madonna could act. She could have been the Jean Harlow meets Judy Holliday of her generation. Instead that film made her look like a Sharon Stone wannabe.

I have the ROL reissue on 180gram. It's quite nice. Just bought it a couple of months ago. As big of a Madge fan as I am, I'm ridiculously thin with my M vinyl. Now might be a good time to spruce it up a bit.

I have Madonna thru I'm Breathless from the original releases but I feel the need to get these too like I did with the recent Prince stuff. I'm a completist for sure especially with these two.

I totally agree. I used to not be a big fan of it, but it was you orgers four or five years ago who proved to me how great it was. I love the whole album, Madonna is a dominatrix and a sexually dominant bitch the whole way through with its smutty songs and Madge in her breathy voice.

.

She is also swearing a lot and getting into some serious dance grooves, yet we also have Rain on it too. I love this album, Madonna's statement and her big fuck you to the critics. I was also turned on to the power of songs like "Thief of hearts", "Bad Girl", "Deeper and Deeper", "Rain" and of course the title cut "I show you love, I'll hit you like a truck, I'll give you love, I will teach you how to ...." and the SEX book had the lyric with FUCK in it.

.

Its my favourite of the post Like a Prayer period and my 3rd favourite after that album and True Blue (Another great album and the best of her 80s pop phase.

.

Bedtime Stories is not as good, but has its highlights - Human Nature (Again that breathy voice which I love "What the hell was I thinking" and Survival, Take a Bow and many more. I loved that period for her too and when I listen to those songs I think of the Letterman interview "Why do you keep fucking with me?" - early 90s Madonna was untouchable.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I got the Erotica LP reissue from 3/4 years ago. Packaging quality was pretty poor. The copyright listed the album from 1989!!!!

Wouldn't mind a copy of BEDTIME STORIES on LP... Fabien Baron, who did the artwork, is one of my favourite designers. Both albums are pretty underrated imo.

Mer Girl music

I ran to the forest, I ran to the trees
I ran and I ran, I was looking for me
I ran to the lakes and up to the hill
I ran and I ran, I'm looking there still

And I smelled her burning flesh
Her rotting bones
Her decay

I ran and I ran
I'm still running away

Also thanks to her training for Evita (another great Madonna film) her vocals on ROL were amazing nod especially on the title track.
