There is always some excuse made for todays pop stars....why is that? There was never as many excuses for past legends. I don't think the fact that artists struggle to sell out venues has anything to do with scalpers. I think some of todays pop stars are not as popular as they market themselves as and they book venues that are much bigger than their demand.... period.

Very good point. Some of these artists need to be more realistic and play smaller venues. This also applies to older artists who were once really popular (Janet Jackson,Gwen Stefani) and are now trying to make a comeback.

Maybe these acts shouldn't charge so damn much to see them live.

Much of an artist's revenue comes from live shows n touring these days as so much can b ripped off the net for free thus generating less $$ in sales of their product...

I understand that, but the idea of paying $200-$300 to see a 2-hour concert is absurd.I will never pay that much ever again.

There are special speed dialers that can snatch tickets super fast.

This is a real problem. The brokers/scalpers use technology (speed dialers, algorithims, etc.) that buy the bulk of tickets when released. That's a bigger problem.

Why are some of you saying it is good that you cannot get good seats? That is insane. You should want scalping to be banned.

I feel you. I have definitely been burned, missing out on affordable shows, only to see a multitude of tickets show up on Stubhub for more than double the price. So frustrating! Now days for shows you know are going to be hot tickects, you pretty much have to be camped out at the computer at the exact time the go onsale to have a fighting chance. rolleyes

If you will, so will I

Here's a detailed article on the subject, including a comparison of Adele and Beyonce concerts. One has restrictions and the other doesn't....

Once again, the RodeoSchro Ticket Auction Process would put every single scalper out of business; sell the best seats at their actual market value; return ALL that money to the artist; and leave plenty of great seats available for reasonable prices.

Sooner or later, I'm going to get someone to try this. And when I do, this industry will change forever - and scalpers will be wiped off the face of the Earth.

If your not Michael Jackson OR Prince OR Janet OR a legend of that calibar... I would NEVER EVER pay more than 200 dollars to see any of today's pop stars in concert. I would be crazy as hell if I did!

The ONLY act I would pay more than 300 dollars to see is Michael and he is no longer here. I dont get people who pay that much to see some of todays stars in concert, wouldn't be me...

The only artist on my bucket list that I would have loved to see live is Kate Bush, other than that I've seen all my heros live over the years. So unless I have a time machine and could go back to the 70s to see Parliament, Earth Wind & Fire, I'm pretty happy what I have seen. But should Kate change her mind......shit yeah I would pay to see her!

Last night's "Saturday Night Live" was a repeat. Drake was the host/musical guest. For his monologue, he did a really funny bit about all the times he's used on memes. The bit was a song, and Drake sang it straight through the mic - no effects, no background singers, just him singing.

That cat can NOT sing a note to save his life. He couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Man oh man, that guy's entire musical career must be made up of electronically-altered stuff, because he just cannot sing to save his life.

If anyone thinks I'm wrong, and that Drake really can sing, just watch that monologue and then get back to me.

I think he's a funny actor, though.
