This is one thing I actually really love about Janet. She knows how to seperate her personal life from her career. I respect that she never tried to use her marriages or personal life to get media attention unlike a lot of the stars of today. If you are a true star in your own right, you do not have to do any of those things for attention. Janet has always been mysterious in that way. I feel sorry for the way her career turned out. I wish I could have seen her in concert one last time since I know she is never going to tour again. Wish her all the best with her "family" and whatever she decides to do with her career.

i agree with what you said except 'i feel sorry for the way her career turned out' i mean yes she's had her setbacks and went through a rough period but a whole lot of artists would probably give anything to have half her career. also how come you put 'family' in quotes, are you still not believing the woman is pregnant?

Janets career ended tragically, saying that doesn't mean she didn't have a good career overall.

Lawd! You are being dramatic as hell. Saying that her career ended tragically....how Sway? Unbreakable was Janet 6th #1 album. She also made history becoming only the 3rd artist to have a #1 album in 4 different decades and the first black artist to do so. She is still writing her own history. You don't know what the future holds for her.

yeah but she just went #1 a few months ago, 7th #1 album puts her 3rd among all female artists, only black artist to go #1 in 4 calender decades, a #1 urban ac single for 11 weeks, a great critically acclaimed album,a sold out 1st leg tour, honored by bet, her first RRHOF nomination, and now she's having a baby....please tell me whats tragic about her career?

Again, Saying the way her career ended was horrible in no way suggests she did not have a good career overall. I think the way her career ended was tragic. She did not deserve the Nipple gate backlash and the black balling.

"Ending" is different than "decline". Her career didn't "end" - she just had a #1 album. lol

but if you bought a ticket and was looking forward to seeing her isnt that contradicting your statement about how tragic her career 'ended'...if her career ended why would you or anybody else buy tickets? you saying that an artist who is still making music career ended tragically is absolutely trying to be shady. janet is still alive happy and embarking on a new journey, there is nothing tragic about her. and nobody is bashing your post, some of us with common sense is just pointing out how ridiculous you sound. and please stop with the 'you stans' bs, this has nothing to do with stans.

I didn't say your post was negative. It was simply inaccurate. If your career ends, you don't get a #1 album - that's basic common sense.

Spare us the the passive aggressive bs. Per usual, you always have an agenda when it comes to Janet. It's not shocking considering you have often brought up past incidents that have occurred in the Jackson family *ala Summer 2012,* in an effort to bash Janet when it wasn't even relevant to specific threads. No need to mask what's clearly evident. I see your intentions and you aren't fooling me. On topic, your opinion can remain, however it's inaccurate and you look a fool standing behind a nonsense opinion. Janet just garnered her 7th #1 album 33 years after debuting. If her career is over, then EVERYONE'S career is over. Because there are very few in this industry who has such an achievement. None of her contemporaries even have that achievement. And you've already derailed the thread with your pettiness. Don't throw the grenade, then try to run. You will take these responses.

That certainly was not the only thing I said in my post and it was not worth this back lash and aggression that I have received. And I was mostly referring to her pop career and her career as a popular artists on the pop charts. Her album went to number one but it has not sold millions and millions of copies as she would typically during her commercial peak and I am not saying this to take away her number one or to shade but to make a point. That time (commercial success and sells) being the industry darling has passed and gone for Janet which was really what I was referring too. I meant no harm with my post and I am tired of the petty back in forth when its not even justfied. I defend Janet many times on this site and I have also have no problems criticizing her but that certainly was not the case in this thread. If you disagree with my opinion, thats fine. thumbs up! I meant what I said and I stand by what I said. We can agree to disagree.

what artist from her era is selling millions? her latest album has outsold her peers as a indie release and no mainstream promo, her album was #1 on the pop chart. she is far from her commercial peak just like the rest of her peers, that dont mean her career ended. there are only a couple of artists who are actually in their prime who sell millions. beyonce just hit the platinum mark after all the hype and accolaides surrounding lemonade, including a stadium tour, are you saying janet should be outselling beyonce in 2016? for some reason you try to shade or flat out bash janet every chance you get.

But no artist from Janet's era is still selling millions. Hell they aren't even going to #1....Janet did. And she did it without a major label backing her. Which is something her peers still have. This is 2016 of course Janet is not going to be selling like she did in the past. This is another generation with its own stars. That's like being in the 90's and expecting Diana Ross to outsell Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson....not gonna happen. Your wording tragically ended sounds so final when in fact it's not. Michael dying at 50 is tragic, Whitney and BK dying at 48 and 21 was tragic, and finally Prince dying at 57 was tragic. In what world is Janet at 50 just releasing her 7th #1 record and now about to have a baby tragic. I grew up watching and hearing about MJ, Janet, Whitney, Prince, and Madonna. 3 of those 5 people are dead. So when you say tragic that's what I think about.

None of Janet's contemporaries are selling millions in 2016, yet you have never said ANY of their career is over. We're halfway into 2016,and so far only 2 albums have gone platinum in sales in the United States, despite the dozens of releases so far. Yet, somehow you expect a 50 year-old artist to magically sell MILLIONS, not a million, but MILLIONS, when you have young, contemporary artists not even selling 300k. As usual, you sound ridiculous, bias and irrational. Personally, I know why you don't like Janet, but I'll leave Michael out of this and just say it's not Janet's fault. You can decipher that in whichever way you choose.
