As a tribute to the iconic Prince, Los Angeles-based singer Mila J has released a cover of his classic song “Erotic City”. Prince used her “Blinded” for his song “U Know” from his Art Official Age album, so Mila felt it only right to pay homage to the late icon in her own fashion.

Sex Pistols to Release ‘Live ’76’ Box SetUniversal
On Aug. 19, the Sex Pistols will release a box set giving official releases to four concerts from their famous 1976 U.K. tour. Sex Pistols – Live ’76 will be available on both CD and vinyl. The first concert in the collection is the June 4 show at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester that has attained legendary status because of how it singlehandedly birthed the punk scene in Manchester. According to the a press release on their website, Morrissey, future members of Joy Division and New Order, Mark E. Smith (The Fall) and Mick Hucknall (Simply Red) were all in attendance and were subsequently inspired to form bands. Tony Wilson, the founder of Factory Records, also saw the show. The date was organized by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, who had recently formed the Buzzcocks after seeing the band in Welwyn Garden City. The second disc was recorded Aug. 29 at Screen on the Green in Islington, famously known as the “Midnight Special” gig. Opening for the band were the Buzzcocks and the Clash, who were playing only their third-ever gig. Disc three comes from Sept. 17 at Chelmsford Maximum Security Prison, a show was set up by manager Malcolm McLaren because he wanted the band to play unconventional venues. It’s the only concert in the collection that had been professionally recorded on four-track quarter-inch tape. The final disc is the Sept. 25 date at the 76 Club in Burton-on-Trent that has been circulating as a bootleg. All four concerts were professionally mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London and feature the original lineup of Johnny Rotten (vocals), Steve Jones (guitar), Glen Matlock (bass) and Paul Cook (drums). Sex Pistols – Live ’76 also contains photographs and a reproduction of their press kit that includes articles from the British rock press. The track listing for all four discs can be found below. ‘Sex Pistols – ‘Live ’76’ Track Listing Disc 1: June 4, 1976: Lesser Free Trade Hall, Manchester 1. “Did You No Wrong” Disc 2: August 29, 1976: Screen on the Green, Islington 1. “Anarchy in the U.K.” Disc 3: Sept. 17, 1976: HM Prison, Chelmsford 1. “Anarchy in the U.K.” (incomplete) Disc 4: Sept. 25, 1976: 76 Club, Burton on Trent 1. “Anarchy in the U.K.”

Axl Rose Talks New Music, Possible Memoir in Rare Interview
"I've played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it," Guns N' Roses singer says
June 8, 2016 Axl Rose discussed new music and the possibility of writing a memoir in a rare interview.
Axl Rose said in a new interview that the touring, classic-era lineup of Guns N' Roses has already considered working on new music. "I've got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff, and they liked it," Rose continued. "They might be on [the recordings]. We don't know."The singer participated in a wide-ranging, nearly hour-long chat with Sir David Tang at London's China Exchange earlier this week, also answering questions from fans. The reclusive singer covered everything from his ongoing tour frontingAC/DC to the current state of Guns N' Roses. Sahir Khan, an attendee at the event, recorded the chat andblogged a summary. Staying on the topic of music, Rose also offered that he'd been in talks about making new music with the AC/DC camp. "Angus [Young] and I talked about working together," he said. "So we'll see." The frontman also revealed that he is considering writing an autobiography. The only thing holding him back is the politics that come with writing about the other founding members of GN'R. "It's tough because I haven't figured out how to word things in a way that doesn't just look like I'm being negative to everybody else and calling them a liar," the singer said in a new interview. "Slash and I hadn't talked in 19 years, and when we did talk, I was, like, 'You wrote a lot of stuff that didn't even happen. It's not real.'" He did not address what he saw as lies. In the rest of the interview, Rose discussed why he joined up with AC/DC, his interest in possibly working on a film soundtrack, his views on streaming music services and his diverse musical taste.
