Good job The Weeknd.

:)

First award. Thanked Prince. And no other people.

He was nominated 18 more times though so maybe later.
No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

And he mentioned Prince's last TV appearance (when Prince appeared on the American Music Awards (Nov. 22, 2015) to give him an award. He seemed awe-struck then and very his humble dedication was sincere tonight - choking up was not planned, I imagine.

If this is Keisha's new direction then I'm loving out. That was a great song choice and arrangement for her.

Not sure if Celine's voice can match the power of Freddie Mercury's, but that was still pretty cool. One of the greatest Queen songs without a doubt.

The beginning was great because they played Prince. Do any of those people there know who the hell Prince is anyway ? Then they cut to Madonna and she still can't sing. And a montage of a fucking cemetary in the background ? Cut me to the quick already. Disgusting.

Everything you think is true

Yikes Madonnas gonna get slammed for that very mediocre performance.

Best part Stevie in for the save!!!

Look at that crowd...sad yes but no energy...couldn't help thinking man if only Prince were on that stage right now that room would be beyond electric...

Madonna sang Nothing Compares 2 U and Purple Rain duet with Stevie Wonder. They should have given her more time to sing a few more songs.

What a disappointment. They should've covered "Controversy". Better yet, nothing at all.

Kesha and RiRi.

Examples of the industry holding them back?

Most of her album has a old school vibe. I actually thought her performance was quite good.

Kesha? Yeah. Rihanna? Not so much. Myy bf and I have this convo all the time about how Rihanna has been allowed a certain freedom of expression that isnt often afforded to other black artists in the industry. they long ago stopped trying to force her tightly into the caribbean and urban box and she's continued to grow as a result.

Someone please tell Belinda Carlisle that while we appreciate the effort, she needs to not sing any more.

My Favorite performances from the 2016 Billboard Music Awards:

DNCE, Pink, Rihanna, Arianna G., The GOGOs,
Megan Trainor, Gwen and Blake, Celine D. Celine received the Icon Award. Great show. The sad part was the tribute to Prince. Madonna did a good job considering it was a somber moment and that he was a friend, colleague, fellow entertainer, peer of hers. I liked her purple suit and the purple chair she was sitting on.

I felt so sorry for her. I don't know what happened to her voice. She is (as far as I know) a real pro but she just did not have it last night. And to make matters worse, the other ladies DID hit all the high notes. That made poor Belinda's shortcomings all the more obvious.

Gina Schock, though, is still my favorite rock and roll drummer. If I ever form a band, she's my first call!

Yes, the cemetary stuff was disturbing. I was listening to a piece of live Prince in my head, "Shut up already." "Bullshit." Those people definitely did NOT know about The Quake.

Perhaps it's time to call it quits? I wonder how many of the yougins in the crowd even knew who they were? They were probably like "who"?

Why call it quits though when people are still paying to see your shows?
