You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

WOW.

No excuse for Jermaine to be doing small club dates across the county. Get a 5 piece funk band together and hit the road!!

Agree. This clip was good. He could easily sell out smaller iconic venues with this type of band. He could do funked up versions of J5 classics as well as his own 'hits'. He could sell a new cd on the merch stand & possibly have a sign in to shift copies. He could make a lot of money. I'd go see this...
However this would take effort. He's coasted now for years & got by by being a minor celebrity on reality tv. Such a shame as the man has genuine talent!!

Jermaine is rocking a 5 string bass! Always knew he had skills....he probably doesn't need the $, not interested or he's just lazy.

Jermaine did have a few classics in his day. Remember that song and vid he did with Pia Zadora? I wonder if more than not it all came down to...for Michael's star to shine as bright as it did...Jermaine's had to diminish

Jermaine was famous way before Janet. Her star continued to shine & didn't have to diminish. Maybe it was laziness or maybe he became disillusioned with the music biz & the press intrusions. Still a shame tho either way!

Janet is a woman tho.....who was great, no doubt.....but basically when her career started to get big she was seen as Michael's cute kid sister and as his mimic. Eventually her appeal proved undeniable in her own right

Jermaine's got a genuinely good solo catalogue (even better when combined with J5/Jacksons hits), so it baffles me how he doesn't do many solo shows and instead so often performs MJ material.

On the episode of the Tonight Show last week where Paul Rudd recreated the Styx video, The Roots played Jermaine's Escape From The Planet Of The Ant Men as Paul's walkout music. biggrin
