Jamiroquai bassist has revealed that the new Jamiroquai album is "pretty much finished....we're just finishing up a few things".He also says that the album will be released in October of this year,with a tour to follow soon thereafter.Stay tuned.....

What I love about Jamiroquai is...they mostly ignore current trends and there are no hip-hop elements in their music at all.They stay true to their funk-based sound (incredible basslines,horns,lots of Roy Ayers-like synths).

Yep, that one is tight. They have their moments, yet for the most part they make plastic music. Plus they're some corny ass muthafuckas, especially this Jay Kay dude... i hate his stupid dancing in all their videos. The don't give 'good vibes'. They're just not fun

Sort of like the U2 of funk. You can't deny they've got talent and all, and I can dig some songs... but overall they sound like they're faking it

'Return Of The Space Cowboy' was the SHIT!!!........Yes! I agree with that. That used to be my "getting ready to hit the clubs" CD....I've always liked their music. Tight grooves and musicmanship.

Zender is like Vito bratta... so much talent but basically disappear with a few small projects here and there.

. A Funk Odyssey is also my favorite of theirs, but followed closely by Rock Dust Light Star. They did a great job making up for all the shortcomings of Dynamite, which is a pretty sterile album. I know why most folks preach the virtues of the early J albums like Space Cowboy and I enjoy them, but they're a little too hippie druggie funk to be my favorites. Not wild about the Rastafarian vibe. . REALLY glad their next one is due soon. The wait between Jamiroquai albums is excruciating if you're a spoiled Prince fan.

I felt like Dynamite has some great songs but the album is a bit uneven.Still,it contains the wonderful "Seven Days In Sunny June",which I consider to be one of their finest songs.I was really amazed at how strong the RockDustLightStar album is.It's less disco-y than the previous albums,the songwriting is top-notch and there's even a 'rock' feel on a few tracks.A very solid,cohesive album! The song "Two Completely Different Things" is classic Jamiroquai,imo.I'm very impressed and excited with the direction they're going in.

Reasonable minds can disagree. IMHO, they trailed off after Funk Odyssey, and Synkronized was really their last above-average effort. I thought RDLS retread old ground. But I didn't give it much of a chance. "Seven Days" and "Smile:" are the last 2 songs of theirs I truly enjoyed.
