Phil Collins returns to the stage...

Very happy to see Phil back, and not too far off from his excellent Montreaux Jazz fest show which was released in 2004, the last time he toured solo. Extended touring is unlikely, but a CD and maybe limited shows would be great before a proper retirement for this legend.

For the first time since a limited tour of cover songs in 2010, Phil Collins took to the stage:

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I bought his remasters too, they are excellent. The live tracks on Face Value and Hello I Must Be Going are insane. Can't wait for No Jacket and But Seriously.

Those East 17 guys sound terrible. Phil could have handled this solo.

Great cover though.

Yeah, if it was Phil's band they would have murdered that cover. But at least Phil was there, so still worth watching.
