Didn't Miles Davis do a Hop-hop cd?

The dopest jazz/soul hip hop album of all time is Madvillainy by Madvillain, at least imo x)

Good pull.

To me, Madvillainy one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.

As for jazz-infused albums, my vote still goes to The Low End Theory.

boxed I've slept on Madvillainy. Will have to check it out this weekend. For me, Digable Planet's "Blowout Comb" gets the win. Its an album where its hard to distinguish between the sample and the live instrumentation.

This is what you want...This is what you get.

A totally legit argument for Blowout Comb, which may be my favorite hip-hop album of all time, but The Low End Theory was imo no less seamless and actually featured Ron Carter playing bass on the tracks.

I don't think Madvillainy is as jazz-infused as those 2 albums but imo it's the best hip-hop album of the 20th century.

happy listening.

Man I forgot about Galliano - used to love this album back in the day!

Another one to dust off!

We could veer into some trip-hop ala Massive Attack - could also be considered Jazzy Hip-Hop...

The Hue just released a new album called Aurora. A couple of the songs were released already as singles only. thehuelife.com

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Remembered another track based on Cal Tjader "Never My Love" that I often hear on a jazzy hip hop radio show:
