Killed by death... Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead)

So, not even a week after his 70th birthday it has happened. Lemmy has died. R.I.P.

So sad. He was one of the few rockers who looked like he could kick your ass at any moment.

Update: Motörhead have confirmed Lemmy’s death in a Facebook post. “There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer,” the band wrote. “He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.”

RIP Lemmy.

Yes. Even though the writing was on the wall the last year or so, you still didn't think it would happen so soon.

And yes... Amazing bass player. Played it like a lead guitar. Glad I got to see him 6 times in concert. While I was not a Motörhead fan per se, it was always fun. And an entertaining interview partner. Great guy. Will be missed.

One of my fav. concerts was seeing Motorhead, Dio and Iron Maiden at MSG. Missed the Motorhead this last time and I knew his touring days were over. But I figured he had a few more years to rock n roll. sad... R.I.P. Lemmy, thank you for rockin' n' rollin.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Only way to feel the noise is when it's good and loud
So good I can't believe it, screamin' with the crowd

Don't sweat it, get it back to you
Don't sweat it, get it back to you
OVERKILL, OVERKILL, OVERKILL

On your feet you feel the beat, it goes straight to your spine
Shake your head, you must be dead if it don't make you fly

Don't sweat it, get it back to you
Don't sweat it, get it back to you
OVERKILL, OVERKILL, OVERKILL

Know your body's made to move
Feel it in your guts
Rock'n'roll ain't worth the name
If it don't make you strut

Don't sweat it, get it back to you
Don't sweat it, get it back to you
OVERKILL, OVERKILL, OVERKILL

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams
