There's this show on VH1 called Rock Icons and a few months ago, they had an episode on Joe Elliott

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Awesome song...it would have been a big hit in the late 80s

I haven't listened to the album since it first dropped but I thought it was kind of weak. Man Enough is a great funky little track though. Maybe I'll give it another listen.

It's too obvious to say just stick to the older stuff, but I think I shall for now.

Makes me appreciate that despite the sheer stupidity of "Let's get rocked", the production and mixing on that is 1000 times better then the compression mania of "let's go". It's a very poor subsitute.

I'm only a casual fan of them, but I thought the new album was quite good. It's true to who they are and respects the past, but shows some evolution. They even had a slight dance/electronic influence on one track.

I think it's hard for older artists. A lot of fans are so resistant to newer music and always compare the new to the old and find it wanting. But I think it's important to take every album on its own terms.

I applaud them for at least making the effort to make a new album. Everyone says don't be a nostalgia artist, but far too often fans only want to hear the old stuff so it's difficult.
