^^Van Halen had a similar cover on their 2012 album

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

do we notice

when it comes to performers who had great pop success, how we tend to favor the music they created before they did

Very hard choice, but the blue album. Even Brick House was a jam before radio picked it up and it got completely played out. Zoom and Easy were quality ballads before they MORed out. And lots of funk on that disc too. But also love Hot on the Tracks, Movin On and Caught in the Act.

If you've got funk, you've got style.

Did anyone else notice besides me noticed back in the day that Motown screwed
the print on side 2 of the Hot On The Tracks album. Side 2 starts with Come Inside
but on the album they list Fancy Dancer as the opening track. I bought the cd
in 1999 and they screwed the order of that cd by putting Fancy Dancer on before
Come Inside totally destroying my groove. I like all the Commodores albums from their debut up until In The Pocket but Hot On The Tracks was just that special
Commodores album for me. You could just play that album all the way through as well as the Blue album. I remember digging the poster inside the blue album cover
with the fellows kicking their legs up in the air. lol
