Big Daddy Kane was on Cold Chillin'/Warner Bros. Kane said that when he had to clear Staple Singers samples ("big daddy" from I'll Take You There), the requests went through Prince.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

usually I don't listen to the whole package with most artists, except when I get into the mood for a concert. and the Kane is coming this Thursday biggrin

never seen him live, but I expect it will be a blast

best thing, the gig is once again just 100 meters from my flat. really SMALL venue, approximately 100+ people fit in. it is always really intimate, artist have to walk through the crowd to get to the so called "stage"

over the years quite a lot of knocking Hip Hop acts dropped by, Masta Ace has been performing here with EMC for his birthday not even two weeks ago. slammin!

My bestie saw BDK within the last decade, and said he put on a very entertaining show and connected with the audience! Enjoy!
