A legend in this tough business, Angie Stone stands in a class by herself. And her new release, Dream, coming out on November 6th on Shanachie Entertainment (see our album review), is an amazing conclusion of the three years since her last release. Working with Producer Walter W. Millsap III (Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez), she has fashioned an album that combines her one-of-a-kind voice with a collection of terrific new songs and great production. The album's first single, "2 Bad Habits," is already a radio hit.

I'm a little concerned about this one because there is typically almost no promotion or radio support for singers who release albums on the Shanachie label.

Anyone else listen to this yet? It's an okay album. Probably the weakest of her discograpy thus far. I kind of figured as much since it's on the Shanachie label. Kind of a watered- down sound and really lacking the grit of her previous recordings but it's not horrible.

Angie Stone's Dream Debuts on at No. 3 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart
11/15

Angie Stone's Dream has become her highest-charting set on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart since 2007.

According to the publication, the R&B singer's latest set has entered at No. 3 with 9,000 sold in its opening week. The entry has given Stone her best rank since her fourth studio effort, The Art of Love & War, crowned the chart for one week in 2007, selling 16,000 in its first week. "Thank you all for the supports! Thanks you guys!! We're at 3 on the billboard R&B charts #dream #getitnow," Angie wrote on Instagram.

Dream includes the lead single “2 Bad Habits,” which has fallen two spots from its peak at #20 to #22 on the Adult R&B Songs tally.
