You don't know shit buddy! And, IF Tupac was still alive, he'd tell you the same thing.

Yep, people need to support these tresured artists.

I agree Adele is a breath of fresh air.

Fresh air?

What is she doing that Janet, Jasmine Sullivan, Lalah Hathaway, ledisi, Ndambi, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, and a host of others isn't doing?

You guys should check Kadja Bonet. She writes and produces her own stuff. Hopefully, she will get the push to break out big.

A breath of fresh air =/= innovation, it means different and nothing more.

The question should be "What is she doing that Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and a host of others aren't doing?"

That's exactly who she's an alternative to.

I thought you were done with Adele threads? lol

As others have said, you're comparing her to the wrong artists. Her style is nothing like the people you listed, stop playin'.

U won't see me on another Adele thread. I'll add her 2 a LONG list.

She may not be your cup of tea but you have to admit she is better than those other pop stars....

what exactly makes her 'better' than those artists?

She does not make R&B or black music. Why do people keep saying this? neutral

Apparently being white and having a great singing voice is enough to qualify as a vulture of black culture now. Adele doesn't strike me as a blue-eyed soul singer like so many claim.

the thing is she gets round the clock play on urban radio however black artists are not getting any airplay at top 40. if 'hello' can be played on urban why cant 'no sleeep' or 'shame' by tyrese or 'fools gold' by jill be played on pop stations?

It's not Adele's fault that only [white] pop stars and their music get almost all the spotlight on mainstream outlets.

"Hello" being on urban radio doesn't make Adele any more of a soul singer than it makes Jill Scott and Tyrese pop stars. I doubt "No Sleeep" would be getting much radio play if she were younger but we already know Janet isn't going to be getting any Top 40 radio play at her age.

These are the main reasons why we have no variety on pop radio anymore hence why I don't waste my time listening to it.

Lionel Richie Planning Collaboration with Adele
12-02-15

Ever since Adele returned to the music world with a simple “Hello,” the Internet-savvy have been pairing the hit with Lionel Richie’s iconic 1984 song of the same name.

Richie even got in on the fun, posting a mashup clip on his Instagram. But now it looks like the two artists may actually be joining forces in real life.

Richie recently revealed his plans for a collaboration with Adele in an interview with E! News.

“We are going to be doing something together — that’s already almost in the works,” he said. However, he noted that it’s unlikely to happen until after Adele is finished touring.

“Her mission is [to] get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won’t happen just yet. She is committed to that.”

Richie also shrugged off the claims people made about Adele stealing “Hello,” and instead, took the similarities good-naturedly. “What it did was it blew everything to the ceiling. The conversation came up,” he said. “If you say Adele and you say Lionel or Lionel and Adele…that’s the best pairing you could have!”

Adele's New Album Hits Five Million in Sales thumbs up!

December 11, 2015
Link

Adele keeps breaking records left and right: her new album 25 has now sold more than five million copies in the U.S. alone. It's the first album to sell that many copies in a calendar year since 2011, when Adele did it with 21.

As Billboard reports, to find someone who managed to sell that many copies of an album in a year who isn't Adele, you need to go back to 2004, when Usher's Confessions moved 7.98 million copies.

More impressively, there have only been 11 albums released in the past decade that have managed to sell five million copies or more overall. 25 is one of them; so is 21. Three of the 11 are by Taylor Swift, and albums by Mariah Carey, Nickelback, Carrie Underwood, Josh Groban, Daughtryand 50 Cent round out the list.

I believe it. When I worked at a music store, it was a store full of stuff they hoped to sell, but there would always be "THE" hot title they had many copies of but still ran out. I have been seeing the stores I normally shop at just keep copies of 25 right by the register. lol It's a real moneymaker.

I know, but she is not the only one who can achieve that, and besides that tingle you are talkin about, well if you are a man, you must know how great it is to feel it. It feels just fuckin great.
