George Clinton

Any news on the new Parliament album?

I know George released the new Funkadelic album already, which he mentioned before releasing in the same interview he mentioned the forthcoming Parliament album..

Just wanted to know, I got xcited bout the Parliament album on the way..

Hope it is still in the works...

To be honest,I wasn't thrilled with the latest Funkadelic album (way too much hip-hop for my tastes),but I'll check out a new Parliament album.

I quoted this from the interview:

I heard a rumor you hooked up with Steve C. Washington [of Slave] again.
I’m always working with Steve! The Parliament album is coming out right after this.

right, I suppossed & hope the Parliament album would be much funkier..

sorta expected this from a Funkadelic album..

but a Parliament album, that's a totally different concept..

Here is an article from this year:

Although a new Parliament album is apparently on the way, the set – and rightly so – rattles through the catalogue that made his name. As soul, rock, funk and hip-hop are put through a psychedelic blender, the virtually continuous jam of songs still sounds futuristic.

Oh ok cool. I would love to hear a new Parliament album. Im with SoulAlive in that when i previewed the Funkadelic album I wasn't all that drawn into it, but when I listened to an interview with him from a few months ago and he was talking about how much he appreciated certain new things in hip-hop it kind of made sense some of the direction the new album took.

Change it one more time..

I wasn't amused with that last album either. I hope they get back to basics this time.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Did you see this shit? New P-Funk material.... That Kendrick/Ice cube remix of Funking kinda hard on you is cold...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?t=249&v=i8zhHqRp4Go

But for some reason they don't have it on ITUNES... they have a bunch of house remixes w/ different edits w/ basically the same beat. But not this one on Periscope? mad

Wholly funkin shit! Thanks for sharing that clip, lousy quality but awesome content. George is like a teenager excited about his new tunes, and that is awesome. First Parliament cut very Parlet like and last track he played would have been right at home on Shake the Gate. I hope he is able to layer some more high quality male vocals and horns, etc. to give it the full Parliament treatment. Remix of Funkin Hard on You was cool too. Now GC, GIVE US DAT FONK!!!

If you've got funk, you've got style.

right, Funkadelic has always been kinda strange anyways, that's why it's called Funkedlic..

Parliament on the other hand, now that's a completely different concept..

I suspect the Parliament album will be what we funkateers are lookin 4..
