The inclusion of Sinead O'connor proves the ridiculouness of this industry/corporate created title. No-one, I mean no-one unless you work for the industry views an artist is such a way.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I suppose that the definition one person said of a "Hit" is a top ten placing on the main chart, then Leif Garrett is another one hit wonder, with only his Dancing song from 1979 making this qualification. Same for Kiss, only "I was made for loving you" was a Top 10.

.

Sinead has released a lot of music and she was quite a big star in Ireland for a while.

.

Oran Juice Jones made another album in 1989 and had a small hit with a song called "Shaniqua" (No shit) the video shows Shaniqua being told she better eat by the pimp ass Mr Jones.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I guess the way I would define a "one hit wonder" is an artist who had only one chart-breaking hit and fell into obscurity shortly afterward. There are a fair amount of artists who are classified as one hit wonders that are technically not one hit wonders. Most of them had a minor follow-up hit that was released on the same album as their prominent hit single. The Knack was constantly labeled as a "one hit wonder" with "My Sharona", but they also had a pretty decent follow-up hit with "Good Girls Don't".

Other artists who may technically be "one hit wonders" may have had only one single chart in the Blillboard Hot 100 but consistently have albums that chart in the Billboard 200 Albums chart, some of which even hit the top ten and number one. That is true of many metal acts like Disturbed and System of a Down and was true of one legendary rock group from the 1960's. In fact, this was their "only" hit single.
