What's being gay got to do with it?

Guns is a phobe (edit: holds a strong bias against his tribe enjoying Madonna), its sad because he seems like a bright person but it becomes very apparent here when it comes to things that we enjoy. I guess being ugly inside does that to ya.

What do people expect? Madonna was trained in the old school of classical dance which IS gruelling and sadistic. I doubt the story about the dancer breaking a limb and her showing no sympathy. But I would not be surprised if some young millenials walked out and quit because she was being "mean" (demanding discipline/perfection).

I agree, Cinny. Maybe their actual checks aren't to their hopes and expectations, but as young dancers the resume line alone is a worthy investment.

That's why she doesn't have to pay them the highest possible wage. The experience is priceless. Once it is on their resume though, they can charge the NEXT people a premium. That's how the game is played.

More like a professional than an internship. Seriously this is a Madonna tour, the dancers need to be top notch. Its required to distract from all the lip synching. I kid somewhat. Tours for dancers really don't get any bigger than Madonna do they? Who else could compare?

So Google shouldn't offer unpaid internships.. cuz they're Google? They're back up dancers...not headliners. If ure investing more money than a little on back up dancers...its not a good investment. If u pay out the ass for a back up dancer...u still only have a backup dancer....easily replaced by another dying to do it for free.

I'd be pissed if I spent $500 on a Madonna ticket and the dancers came out sloppy, looking all angry.

Me too, gay male Madonna fan from way back (True Blue album is playing as I type) and I think this is a load of bullshit dreamed up by some tabloid. Yes she is hard on her dancers, but who is not. Kylie Minogue fires her dancers $20 if they miss a step, Prince does too, Britney did, they all do.

.

Look dancing for a big star like Madonna, Beyonce is not going to be a picnic, you are expected to dance like magic, either suck it up or fxxk off is the attitude. I mean looking at the grueling auditions and rehearsals all the dancers in "This is it" had to go through. Plus if you watch "In bed with Madonna" she is being really cool with her dancers, praying with them, letting them in her bed and hanging out with them. Madonna is not a heartless bitch and the only time she sounded them out, was when some of the queeny ones were given her latest boyfriend a hard time and even then, it was like "You have got to love more, like love the person next to you".

.

I bet you she is paying them well too and even at 57 she will still be dancing rings around them. But I realise this site, being gay and white is on the outer, when the bias is strongly pro Black and pro heterosexual, and Madonna fandom dows not meet this criterion. I am sure there are female and straight male Madonna fans out there, saying indirectly we are all over the top protective queens is ridiculous.

Funny how people always point out the bad behavior of other artists to somehow justify the behavior of whatever artist they are a fan of.

Bad behavior is bad behavior, no matter how many famous people demonstrate it.

I haven't read this whole thread but does anyone remember in "Truth or Dare" when her make up artist was upset because she woke up with her butthole bleeding and thought someone had drugged her and accosted her and Madonna started laughing? God! What a bitch! That has always stuck with me about her. Who could be so callous about such a thing?

I remember that, Superfan! Awkward indeed. Truthfully that was decades ago and these "save me Madonna" incidents must be common. It must be rough to sort the nonsense from the truly horrible things. Hopefully we'll get a tell-all someday with some real dirt from a trustworthy source. Didn't her brother write some tell-all about how she let his teeth fall out or something? Cmon now.

So bull. Even today there is a TMZ article about her birthday party with multiple comments like "I'd hit" and "still hit it" amongst the usual refuse.

THAT'S^ nothing. James Brown used to fine a dancer and/or a bandmember $5 for every mistake. During a live performance, if James looks at you and said "I got ya!", you knew you were going to get fine that day. lol

Exactly TonyVanDam, Prince looked to James Brown as an example to set for his bands, everyone moving in unison and no messing up. Same with Ray Charles and the Temptations. Why did they fine people, to ensure a show was perfect.

.

Madonna is doing nothing but playing band leader. Seriously if you are putting on a show where people are paying at least $50 - $100 and more to see you, they expect some skill and precision in the playing and the footwork. Youe xpect mistakes and misteps at a kids play not on a Madonna world tour.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
