Patti LaBelle disses Aretha and Ross

Seems jealous Patricia Holt is at it again as she threw shade at The Queen of Soul and The Boss Ross at a recent concert in Atlanta.

It seems Ms. Holt a/k/a Patti LaBelle invited some fans on stage, but the security was rushing them off in the estimatin of LaBelle, so she stated, don't be rude to my guets I am not Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross.

It is long known in the jusic industry that the Philadelphia screeming minnie has felt as though she has not gotten the just fruits of Aretha or Diana.

She has even had issues with Dionne Warwick and Gladys Knight over her mouthiness.

There was also a famous run in with Natalie Cole.

A few years back when Aretha was ill, Patti mispoke to some media that she had lit a candle for her and prayed because she had pancreatic cancer. Obviously that was not teh case as Aretha is still alive and performing and as we speak on the West Coast.

She just had back to back sell out shows in LA and Santa Barbara. On Monday she performs in Oakland with Babyface as her support act, and on FRiday the 14th she appears in Las Vegas.

Not getting that the comment she made indicates Patti is jealous of Ree Ree or Diane. To my knowledge, it's not commonplace for Diane or Aretha to invite fans on stage. I can definately see security freaking out if it ever happened, especially with Miss Ross.

Unless you attended the FREE Concert @ The FOX theatre last Thursday and heard it with your own ears I don't buy it....The Event Celebrated The 50yr Anniversary of The Voting Rights Act and HIV awareness...Rapper Common performed, Patti was the Music Headliner and AL Sharpton was the keynote speaker.....Kelly Price, Nene Leakes and other Atlanta Celebs were in attendance...Patti also Headlined the 50th Anniversary March on Selma Concert...She is the one Civil Rights Organizations call on to perform becuz she's given back to The Black Community & the Black Community Loves her Madly....

Agreed. But if we want to project/pretend/imagine there is some epic battle still going on with the elder stateswomen of American song after all of these years, there is, of course, a way for us all to quench that thirst if you will lurking :

I don't know why people want to create this illusion that there is some type of "beef" going on between all three of these legendary ladies. It doesn't exist. I think folks are just bored and want something to talk about. shrug

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

You're crazy... that whole album features some of the BEST back up singing ever recorded to record. Labelle MADE that album a classic, and I'm a fan of Laura's other albums, but Labelle makes me forget who I'm listening to with some of the harmonizations on there.

Change it one more time..

Even if she did say what you have attributed to her, I don't see how that is disses anyone... sound like good natured humour. Since both Aretha and Diana's diva attitudes are well known to most.

Miss Patti plays my city on Thursday September 17th. I don't have a ticket yet but I saw Wu-Tang Clan playing the same venue the same week and I am more interested in seeing(hearing) her!

I read Gladys's book years ago and now I know that Aretha's Favorite-shade is to do the "I'm the only ICON in the room, I'm not recognizing anybody, don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't touch me.."....LOL...ReRe is a straight up Trip...
