20 Y.O. is amazing!

Just rediscovered my love for this album...it is seriously one of her best, and one of THE best R&B - pop albums of its decade. It's tight, smooth, melodic...save for "Daybreak" it's all killer no filler.

"This Body" is the most underrated Prince tribute by a female ever.

"With U" is pure classic Janet and gives R. Kelly a run for his signature.

"Enjoy"...one of her best album tracks.

"Take Care" & "Love to Love" - hell even the interludes are on point.

I think with a different title for the record it would have been remembered more fondly (that and for some reason people hate JD's involvement).

Who doesn't love "Do it 2 Me?" My ears must be broken because the way everyone talks about this LP it's as if it doesn't stand up to janet., TVR, or Control but for me, it does.

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

i feel the same way about damita jo, i love that album. i think it just became the popular thing to discard janet's music and label her a flop. i remember the media reporting 20yo as a flop its 1st week out even though it sold around 300k. i never heard this big difference in her music post velvet rope except on discipline. i dont love 20yo but i like it and it has a few great songs like 'enjoy', 'with u', and 'take care', i knowim in the minority but i love 'call on me'' too.

I believe it was the influence of Jermaine Dupris obviously dated sound that caused a hinder on this album. Her personality was not felt, and she once again, didnt have much to talk about. Its like..."twenty years...I dont wanna be serious I just want to have fun...I dont know...that's what I do know...". It was like, once again after Damita Jo...nothing of substance to write home about...save for "Enjoy" which was the janet we know and love. However there were some good things in this album:

So Exited was a fun single and so was the video!

Show Me - janet all 80's electroed out and those handclaps were on fire.

With U - Was sweet, and the orchestra was very beautiful

Enjoy - Obviosuly a great track that has a great chorus and thoughtful lyrics

Take Care - Jeez, one of the sexiest songs she has ever made. Can put this one right up there with Funny How Time Flies. A defenite Jimmy terry and Janet production. These type of jams arent made by many. Those warm keys, janets haunting background ovcals and rain sounds just put you in the mood. I was really suprised by this track when I heard it.

It's her worst offering as a whole but the few standouts are among her best. And her voice wasn't at its greatest here either, only on some tracks

Get It Out Me

Do It 2 Me

With U

Daybreak

Take Care

are pretty nice songs, I couldn't care less for the rest. Show Me is an absolute mess and the worst Janet track to appear on a studio album. I wish fans would stop acting like So Excited is the best thing she's ever done, it's not even close.

I really enjoy this album too.

The out-takes- roll widchu and days go by are really strong and should have made the cut.

The only flaws are:

- the intro
- the lame ass title
- the 'call on me' and 'so excited'videos
- call on me as the first single
- the vocals on 'daybreak'- although I still like the track
- the constant reference to 'control'
- the album cover is not memorable at all

All in all her worst album for me. I even like the first 2 albums pre-Control. Discipline is OK and Damita Jo severely underrated. 20 Y.O. on the other hand deserved everything it got. I don't like a single track.
