My favorite is most definitely Diamond Dogs (followed by Young Americans and Station to Station). It's way to hard to list just one fave song since he is my favorite artist (tied with Prince). Sweet Thing triptych, Somebody Up There (Likes Me), Cracked Actor (fuming LOVED the documentary), After Today, Win, Moonage Daydream, lots more haha. Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Scary Monsters and Diamond Dogs are my favorite albums, though it's hard to pick. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

My top three in order have always been Prince, David Bowie and then The Cure (with the Beatles and The Smiths threatening to break into the top 3) It is nice to find some fans with mutual taste. I enjoy Michael Jacksons music and Janet Jacksons, but not as much as some of y'all do.
Favourite albums - Low, Diamond Dogs, Hunky Dory Favourite song - Life on Mars, Andy Warhol, Ashes to Ashes, Some Are, Secret Life of Arabia, Joe the Lion, Sunday, It's no game.........................

Mate apart from Michael Jackson - we have the exact same taste in music -I might throw in Joni in there too. [Edited 6/4/15 2:06am]

Awesome. Joni is definitely up there for me too. What she did in her early albums are untouchable. I like Kate Bush, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Me'shell Ndegeocello (who I need to listen to more is up there) for the ladies.
If you like the Cure and The Smiths, try finding the Twilight Sad, Robert Smith recently covered one of their songs. They sound like themselves (which is a good thing) but you can see their influences. The vocalists sings with a Scottish accent, and has a fantastic voice. Unfortunately I feel The Cure have really not been making strong albums recently so it is nice to see some new blood.

Yup big fan of Kate Bush too. Only know a few tracks of Amos and Harvey and none of Me'shell Ndegeocello
I'll check out those recommendations - Thanks.
I've had this on repeat lately - No one does whimsical hopeless romance like Smith.

as a hardcore fan, it's hard to swallow the 83-97 years commercial pop, laziness, desperate attempts at alternative-rock/electronica, ugh his 69-80 period is still GOLD, though, and his 99-13 albums excellent, but is career as a whole is, sadly, lacking... edit re-reading the OP: jam and album? impossible, can't pick one, too many good jams and albums of the 69-80 era [Edited 6/4/15 4:55am]

Black Tie was decent at best, and the album he should have done in 1991, instead of Tin Machine II (91), which was the lesser sequel of a project that hadn't been successful to begin with... Outside had too much filler-underdeveloped ideas/fragments, it could have been a KILLER 11 songs album, but then again, it wasn't Earthling was a bit desperate, wasn't it? talk about good crafted songs ruined by a (now) dated as hell jungle-drum&bass production -- Hours was the beginning of the comeback, "Thurday's Child" was a bit bland, but other than that the rest of the album is top quality material... -- but I agree that Buddha is underrated, probably his "best" 83-97 album...maybe because it's like a proto-Hours/Heathen

[Edited 6/4/15 6:52am] I've always wanted to like Hours more. I love a few songs, but most of it is bland. Heathen is a step up, Reality is another step up, and then The Next Day kicks ass. Outside is one of my favorite Bowie albums, at least favorite second tier Bowie albums. The last few years I've really been into early Bowie. Everything pre-Hunky Dory, especially his debut album. The deluxe edition is fantastic. I love the theatrical elements in that material. Space Oddity? Man Who Sold the World? Awesome stuff. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Hunky Dory is def my fav Bowie album of the 69-74 era I still love the "red mullet" albums, but they sound a bit dated, don't they? too much nostalgia and glam... I'm more of the 76-80 era, Scary Monsters still sounds fresh and current, and Heroes is probably his best album...and between Ziggy and the Duke, I'd always choose the Duke

Station to Station next. Perfect albums. Every note. I don't find the red mullet glam albums dated. I listen to a shitload of T. Rex though, so perhaps I'm immune! Elton John was probably the best glam artist of the '70s, and he even wasn't seen as glam [Edited 6/4/15 7:24am]

not Man Who Sold the Word, Hunky Dory and Ziggy, but I'll take Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Captain Fantastic and Rock of the Westies any day over Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs and Young Americans
of course, Elton 76-80 gets ANNIHILATED by 76-80 Bowie, but that's another story...

I've always wished I knew more about Bowie outtakes and bootlegs. I have like 62 days' worth of Prince boots, but I'm clueless about Bowie despite the fact that he's tied as my favorite artist. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

not that good, believe me, I struggled to get a double-cd of worthy "vault material" it's not only that Bowie picked up the very best for his albums: he doesn't have much vault material to begin with...maybe because of the way he writes-records...(mostly experimental)
