Omg, how could we have left out Andy Gibb? I've loved him for years. Love his music. He had some great songs. Well done MickyDolenz!

I don't know if they were considered teen idols, but the Bee Gees did have lunch kits

Yeah, they were--they were hanging on my wall. lol

I think Alice Cooper, Grand Funk Railroad, KISS, and even Black Sabbath were idols to teens who were more into hard rock. The ones like Hyde from That 70's Show. razz

My own fave heartthrob band of the 70s is probably the Partridge Family - some real good pop songs in there, sung well by David Cassidy. Also innocent and very sugary, but more sophisticated.

You know-- there's actually some pretty good Partridge Family albums: -Up To Date -Shopping Bag -Sound Magazine Those are my secret albums I enjoy but wouldn't play in front of anyone- but they're great 70s pop albums. David Cassidy had a solid vocal. When I finally saw him live he was drunk onstage

I got their best of and the playing on it is solid! I got Cassidy's first 2 albums aswell. and they have some nice tracks aswell.

Anyway, heres The Keane Brothers.....love the squelchy keyboard on the intro to "Help Help" (gotta be Foster)

Their debut was produced by a pre famous David Foster. Both the boys stayed in the industry as adults, with Tom (lead singer) doing some songwriting and production, very much emulating Foster's own production's at that time.

.

I blind bought their debut on CD pre youtube, so it was a big gamble LOL. I hated it at first but some of the tracks are good fun. And with production by Foster and playing by the likes of Jeff Porcaro, David Hungate, Mike Porcaro, Jay Graydon, Larry Carlton, Tower Of Power, Bill Champlin etc..., you know it's gonna sound slick as hell. And it does LOL.

.

Credit to the 2 boys for playing on the album too (well the credits list them aswell LOL). Tom wrote most of the album which was pretty cool too.

Anyway, thanks to youtube, I found out they were pinups for all but 5 seconds LOL.

Glad ya'll like it--excluding Bee Gees, when I got older I graduated to more sophisticated music... hmph! lol

That's a lie--I heard and internalized the great music of the 70s along with the fun heart throb stuff. Still listen to that great music. wink

Yeah, it's cheese but there's some catchy stuff on that album. And props to them as they could actually write and play. Of course it helped to have a producer like Foster and the "el lay" crew to help you with your work LOL, but the talent was there.

The Keane Brothers

Seems sort of like a younger version of the Hager Twins from Hee Haw.

Very cool! Which heart throbs do you still listen to? I've been all about Leif Garrett and Rick Springfield lately with a pinch of Shaun Cassidy. biggrin
