I actually do a lot for my community. I'm sorry that you don't understand humor but that's alright. I'm actually doing thing's to help the world outside the org. I hope your doing the same and not taking bryan adams posts seriously. I'll be praying to every god out there you found peace of mind after this biggrin

Fair enough, didn't realise you were going for humour.

Are you in the States by any chance? I'm in the UK. There's sometimes a disconnect between humour from our two great nations...

oh yeah it its

but the guy has at least 18 VERY GOOD songs (and no, I'm not a fan of the lyrics of '69) and that means 1 disc compilation of solid heartland rock (his stuff after 93 has been nightmarish though)

the guy has HITS, face it

since I consider the heartland rock genre to be a CHEESY JOKE, at least I can say that Bryan Adams has some solid rock hits (83-93)

i once had an employer who gifted me 2 front row tickets to a bryan adams concert. now, i'm not a fan and had no desire to see the show; but since i lived close to the venue, i figured i'd go down and try to give somebody a good deal on the sweet seats and maybe get enough money to get my drink on for the night. i was asking less than half the price...nobody wanted them. in the end, i was trying to give them away...nobody wanted them. people who had seats 20 rows back didn't want the upgrade....for free...

i threw the tickets in the garbage...

that's what bryan adams is to me. a musician who's so non-dynamic that his paying fans can't even be bothered to get closer to him at no cost. even the people who love him couldn't care less.

Absolute dog shit of a diarrhea donkey dick orgy. I have to hear his songs all the time at work eek eek it's a never ending playlist.. and they play like 7 of his shit songs. Have you ever loved a hoe, heaven, summer of 69, everything i shit, somebody, cuts like a knife etc.

Bryan Adams is the most offensively non offensive singer of the 80's and 90' He's the adam levine ''ima write the same love song and sex song each album'' of his day. He's the 50 cent version of Bruce Springsteen. Cause he can't afford the 99 cent store! he's actually John Mellencamp on his worst day imitating Bruce on his worst album... that is Bryan Adams.

And it's you! you oldies at the org who made him famous. You gave the demon power! fueled it! fired it! molded it! you bastards omg omg you fucking bastards uzi uzi chainsaw machinegun punch

Why! if any of you ever bought one of his singles or albums. Delete your account, perma-ban yourself, get christ, lose christ, get Buddha, re-think life, get laid, and drink water. AND THEN! MAYBE ONLLLLY THEN... Will you be allowed to return to once thee game.

Bryan Adams? bryan fucking adams? he's whiter than Huey Lewis & The News (oh no guns said the w word! run for cover) And huey lewis is whiter than the fucking whompas in Star Wars. Bryan Adams is as white as Alaska in the apocalyptic storm of the century.

I hope you all feel sorry for what you've done.

No matter how bad he is; no matter how derivative he is; no matter how bland he is; there will always be this:

HIS GENERATION DIDN'T SPAWN THE AWFULNESS KNOWN AS NIRVANA, WHICH MEANS IT WAS NOT HIS GENERATION THAT KILLED ROCK AND ROLL.

There is a line from "Summer of '69" that is my family motto:

"Ain't no us in complaining, when you've got a job to do".

I love that line. I don't really like the song much, and that line actually seems out of place in it, but man have I repeated that line to my kids over and over! It's our family motto!

Adams' stuff before he went soft rock was really good. Here are my two favorites:

IT'S ONLY LOVE (WITH TINA TURNER)

Oh no, I've established many times that it was Nirvana that killed rock and roll. Glam Metal today sounds great compared to the 20-year shit stain perpetrated by Nirvana. Look at it this way:

Pre-Nirvana - Rock and roll was about having a party and getting laid

Post-Nirvana - Rock and roll is about how much life sucks

That's all on Nirvana. Shit, name ONE upbeat Nirvana song that has positive lyrics. Is there one? My gut says nope.

I wouldn't say Nirvana killed R&R or made it depressing, if anything, it was the reaction against the clueless bullshit of dance-pop/glam-metal : LIFE IS NOT ABOUT HAVING FUN 24/7, LIFE IS ABOUT THE STRUGGLE TO GET SOME FUN, Nirvana at least got that right

and hey, I'm not even a fan

Guns, you owe Robert Christgau some money:

"Reckless [A&M, 1985]
The megabuck stops here. Maybe I'll let Bruce Springsteen teach me how to hear John Cougar Mellencamp, but damned if I'm going to let John Cougar Mellencamp teach me how to hear Bryan Adams. From antipunkdiscowave strut to Flashdance homage, he's a generic American hunk, only whiter because he's Canadian. Where Sammy Hagar flaunts his anticommunism and Don Henley flaunts his mouth, Adams flaunts nothing more and nothing less than his young reliable bod. Like all the above-mentioned good and bad he shares a mysterious nostalgia for the recent past with a lot of people who aren't half dead yet, at least chronologically. And more than any of them he has real problems relaxing, which puts him square in the soul-as-will-and-idea tradition of Lou Gramm, Pat Boone, Sophie Tucker, and so many others. C-"

I totally hated his shit when it was being played every 10 minutes, like my entire high school years, "Heaven" was the theme song at my senior prom (not that I went.)

But today I have to admit, I hear Run to You and Summer of 69 in the grocery store and think, that's not so bad.

It's white-Canadian rock, a line that runs from BTO (who I love) to Loverboy (who I think are Satan), and that line runs straight through Bryan Adams.

Christgau loves Prince usually but this one shows how self righteous he is:

"Backstreet Boys [Jive, 1997]
I'm not claiming I would have gotten the message without a 13-year-old I know broadcasting it from her boombox. But keynoted by two guaranteed pop classics, one dance and one heart, this is genius teensploitation. I give half credit to songwriter-svengali Max Martin, who's put in time with Ace of Base. But as someone who still suspects Abba were androids, I award the other half to the Boys, without whose sincere if not soulful simulations of soul and sincerity Martin's slow ones would be as sickening as any other promise that's made to be broken. Together the team manufactures a juicy sexual fantasy for virgins who get nervous when performers grab their dicks and think it's gross when teenage ignoramuses copy the move. They deserve one. After all, it is gross. A-'

How can you call Adams a sell out but like Backstreet?

So I Googled "Happy Nirvana Songs". The internet actually laughed.

Here, according to the never-wrong Yahoo!Answers, are the happiest Nirvana songs:

Sliver
Been a Son
Turnaround
Molly's Lips
Son of a Gun
Mexican Seafood
Breed
Drain You
Stay Away
Territorial Pissings
Lounge Act
On a Plain
Come As You Are
In Bloom
Rape Me
Pennyroyal Tea
Scoff

I won't bore you with the lyrics to them; suffice to say none of them are happy. Not even a song called "Mexican Seafood". C'mon - Mexican Seafood?!? That sounds deliriously happy! Who right now isn't thinking of a colorful plate (blue or red or yellow) featuring a nice grilled Tilapia, topped with some cilantro and guacamole, and accompanied by some rice and refried beans?

Not Kurt Cobain, apparently! My God was Nirvana ever a bring-down. They ruined a whole generation - maybe two. Hell, maybe ALL the generations that came after 1992.

I give you "Mexican Seafood:

All the itchy flakes, it is a flaming
All the gels and cremes it is pertaining
To a fungus mold cured by injection
Hope it's only ah, a yeast infection

Oh well, it burns when I - it hurts when I pee
Oh well, it hurts when I - it hurts when I see

Now I vomit cum and diarrhoea
On the tile floor like oatmeal pizza
Fill my toilet bowl full of a cloudy
Puss, I feel the blood becoming chowder rust

Oh well, it burns when I - it hurts when I pee
Oh well, it hurts when I - it hurts when I see

Roll into my bed which does consist of
Lice, bugs and fleas and yellow mucus
Stained dirt, vaseline, toe jam and booger
Stomach acid worms that dance in sugared sludge

Mmmmm ...

^^Didn't the 1980s goth groups really popularize downer songs and increased the popularity of Doc Martens shoes. razz Or you can go back decades further to torch singers and blues performers.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
