J.T. (born Jordan Tepper in Forest Hills, Queens, New York) was a white male hip-hop rapper from the early 90's.
As a child, J.T. played guitar and drums. He attended Rosyln High School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. On road trips to games, J.T. and his teammates made up rhymes on the bus. He later started writing his own lyrics.
J.T. attended George Washington University, but left one year short of graduation to pursue a career in rap music. He recorded a few demo tapes and later, a family friend introduced him to Gary Baker, who worked as a lawyer for Atlantic Records who forwarded the demo tapes to the chief executive of EastWest Records America, Sylvia Rhone.
In 1991, J.T. released his debut album, "Kick the Funk." It's unknown how or if the album ever made any impact on the charts.
J.T.'s only charting song was the single, "Swing It" which managed to peak at #66 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks.
His follow-up singles "Let Me Groove U" and "Brainstormin" failed to chart at all and after that, it appears as if J.T. has faded into obscurity. Nothing much has been heard from him since.
