One wouldnt be a 'whole person' without the ability to connect with his/her audience.

An artist is someone who follows his/her own path even if the audience doesn't understand.
An entertainer pleases the audience.

I would say someone who is specifically involved in the creative side, the visionary part of it, is pretty clearly an artist even they don't perform.

Anyone who performs for the public is an entertainer.

Some people are both.

An artist gives you what you need.

Being able to exist in one person is not a paradox.
