Nicki Minaj, Jay Z, Beyonce and Kanye Deserve No Respect!

I know most of you will say 'duh', but my main gripe is that of content, or intent as the case may be.

I blame myself for letting my curiousity get the best of me. I'm extremely good at not letting that happen. But in this case I just had to look up the definition of "Truffle Butter".

Minaj titled her latest single with this term and I fail to see the upside. The title is touched on twice in the song and though she let her two prince charmings Drake and L'il Wayne do the heavy lifting on the topic its still her song.

This happned many years ago but now I can officially say I'm just too damn old for the genre. When you try to read lyrics that come off as a foreign language because the slang is so thick you know it's time to throw in the towel.

I'd say shame on you Nicki if you actually had any.

Jay Z and Kanye put out a record with a title loaded with social commentary yet for the life of me I can't find said commentary in their catchy club anthem "N!ggas In Paris". The problem is that they totally sold out on that title. If you're gonna name your song N!ggas In Paris and proclaim it has some sort of social relevance, you better go for it one hundred! They didn't, coming off awfully close to what is known as coonery.

Hard to believe Beyonce is the least offensive of the bunch, especially considering how determined she is to ramp up the ratchedness and soft porn sex appeal post baby Blue Ivy. So here we have Beyonce proclaiming the refreshing qualities of "watermelon" in her smash single "Drunk In Love". I wasn't quite sure what drinking watermelon was at first, but any chimpanzee could deduce after a couple listens what she was talking about. The problem isn't in the act itself, but whether someone should be promoting something so private and in casual practice questionable health wise to teenyboppers twerking along to their iphones.

I've heard of sexing up your image, but Beyonce's latest attempts trump Nipplegate in the middle aged pop desperation sweepstakes.

when the fuck is the average mainstream folk going to tire of shit-hop/shit-dance?

I mean, common folks eventually got tired of hair-metal, of hard-dance, of alternative rock, of singer-songwriter pop-folk and even of teeny dance-pop, but I'm still waiting for a shit-hop/shit-dance backlash...

this generaton is hopeless...

I don't think it's cause you're too old. I'm in my 20s and I don't like this. lol I am a fan of rap and hip-hop but I don't even listen to the rap station on the radio anymore...it's just bad. Same beats and same lyrics. It's what sells so who knows if it'll ever change lol.

I also hate that Kanye encouraged white people to use the N-word in that song, N*** in Paris. That man is so far gone it's ridiculous. I guess that's what selling your souls is like.

"At a concert at my predominantly white alma mater, Kanye himself performed the song and called out to the crowd: “White people, this is the only time you can say the word ‘nigga’!” Of course, many of my white classmates relished this opportunity, much as Weiner describes his experience at a Lil Wayne show. Many of my black classmates, on the other hand, were not so happy about it."

So basically, you want everyone to tire of every genre?

those form the list of infamous genres of the last 30 years; those genres appeared (already silly), got big, got sillier and then fell down hard and disappeared

I'm still waiting for shit-hop to disappear...

It seems that hip hop is way past its prime but it's not going anywhere. I don't understand how these same tired themes in the songs continue to prevail. I guess we will have to put up with it for a few more decades before it actually changes. I would hate to think that 100 years from now people will still be talking about the same stupid cars, cash, whores and alcohol, LOL

My theory is the current herd of 15-25 year olds were indoctrinated with Barney sing-along and Disney High School Musical pipe dreams before coming "of age". This watered down garbage explains their fascination with sing-a-long nonsense and alot of the major pop stars relevance as they were marketed as people for this generation to "grow up with". And thus Barney begat Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Disney begat Miley, Timberlake, Aguilera, Spears, etc. They love this shit because they were taught to and they don't know any better as better happened before they were able to enjoy it.

.

Its sort of disgusting, Fahrenheit 451 type programming shit.

Is it me or have Beyonce and Nicki Minaj whitened themselves a lot lately? Blonde hair and changing skin complexions, plastic surgery to have European features...
