I'll listen to it later, but my favorite Japanese funk artist is Toshiki Kadomatsu who made some fantastic electro funk and boogie records in the 80's and even collaborated with The System on a couple of tracks.

I like him too.

The last song in the mix was by him (from the "After 5 Crash" album, which I think people into 1980s Prince might enjoy).

Don't forget the Yellow Magic Orchestra..I remember Janet Jackson was a fan of theirs back in the early 80's. R&B radio played their jams back then.
