Sorry but you have to be mainstream and known in most homes to be the superbowl act, like it or not JACK WHITE is not a well known artist, SORRY. The put the Foo Fighters in a petition and most didnt know them and they have sold millions of albums worldwide. Most likely you are going to see a male next year and probably a more rock artist or group. Jack White is a nice thought, but it will never happen, better chance on Prince Reuniting with the Revolution, The Time and the Family and having vanity and apollonia on that too, then getting Jack White.

he is well known.....just not on this website................trust me on that one

I doubt many people could name one Jack White song.
He is known but he is not well known by the average person.
On college campuses he may be well known but not
on Main Street.....trust me on that one.
I have a White Stripes cd and I can't name a Jack White song
off the top of my head.

It's too bad America doesn't recognize real talent. Someone of his caliber musically should be on that stage next year.

And that means nothing there are hundreds of artist that exist that no one knows on this site, but the SB is a demographic thing and a World stage, Jack White is a niche artist like what REM were they in their height selling 10 million copies of an album were never even a blip on the radar for a show like this, people think they will toss anyone who has a following up there sorry, talented great artist but not even on their radar

Its the Super Bowl not Carnegie Hall.
Jack White is successful and well respected in the USA.
Just because he is not a Super Bowl level act does not
mean he is not recognized and respected as an important artist.

Deja vu because we had this discussion a year ago. lol He would be AWESOME for this, I'm so tired of female acts, why not go back to 2005-2010 style for a bit? I guess that period only happened due to Janet, if there was no malfunction we wouldn't have had the likes of Prince. Taylor Swift for next year would be incredibly predictable, she can do it in a few years.

He's not big enough to carry the Superbowl. He is great, yes - but not a household name and honestly most of his music would not appeal to the "masses". Even people who don't like Katy Perry had probably heard at least half of the songs she played at the Superbowl.

.

To be honest, they are running out of "legacy" acts like Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, U2, etc. You're going to see the new generation starting to dominate the Halftime show . . . I would imagine Lady Gaga or OneRepublic doing it sometime soon.

.

Now, the question is will Prince do it again when it's in Minnesota? Not sure, but I think it would be the only time someone has done it twice. Not sure he would even want to . . .

Ok so Jack White is not a good fit. As far as rock bands go, i could see Fall Out Boy doing it one of these years. They are popular and their songs are catchy and anthemic. They're almost becoming a modern day Bon Jovi.

He has been in the White Stripes, Dead Weather, The Raconteurs and two solo albums plus his own label and record store in Nashville. His vinyl lp was the top selling vinyl lp last year. He makes his own vinyl. There is a booth in his store where you can go inside and make your own vinyl record of your performance in that booth. Here toured with two bands - one male and one female. Here is a decent clip if you wanna check it out. If you like blues, soul, rock, country, etc. he is the real deal.

The first clip is the male band...

and the next is the female....

LOL yes, that's exactly what they will do. That's exactly what they are going for. They only let Lenny Kravitz play backup for some pop tart and you think that Jack White might be a possibilty. They should have let Lenny have a go at a solo performance.

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, but that's what some bloggers from another site I've lurked was saying about the Half-time show. Lenny Kravitz should have gone solo.

Jack White for the Super Bowl seems idiotic.
You want him riding in on a gigantic bull
while surrounded by dozens of dancers with
lite up balls - Plus he will need multiple
costume changes and a rap artist plus some
geezer from the nineties to do a duet with.
Sounds horrible.
The Superbowl calls for a spectacular performance.
Do you think Jack White is that type of performer?
I get it that you love Jack White but he is
no half time show performer.

All about the gimmicks, nowadays. I feel you.

I am voting for WEIRD AL YANKOVIC to do the Super Bowl next year.

No matter what musical trends are hot at the moment, Al is always up to the moment and on point. Everyone knows who he is. And I bet whatever his equal of a giant mechanical lion is, it would be AWESOME.

I'd be into it! Al kicks ass. His career has outlived the artists he's made fun of.
