'Unsung Hollywood' returns February 2015

No lineup has been announced yet, so who would you like to see documented this season?

My picks are as follows:

Paul Robeson
Pigmeat Markham
Hattie McDaniel
Lena Horne
Cast of Amos n Andy
Nipsy Russell
Diahann Carroll
Melvin Van Peebles
LaWanda Page
Cast of Sparkle
Paul Mooney
Tim Reid
Robert Townsend
Sinbad
Booker T

And just for fun, the series "Life After" which I'm assuming will also be back next year at some point.

Teresa Graves
Donnie Simpson
Marsha Warfield
Lisa Bonet
Lark Vorshes
Holly Robinson-Peete
Jalel White
Joe Torry
Sisqo
Flex Alexander
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

Paul Robeson

I saw a documentary on him years ago on PBS which is more in depth than anything Unsung would do.

Lisa Bonet

Don't really see her doing anything like this. She seems kinda private to me and avoids the media. Malcolm Jamal Warner said earlier this year that he was still friends with Lisa.

Flex Alexander

Doesn't he have a TV show on with Shanice?

I'd be interested in:

Mr. T

Theresa Harris

Lola Falana

Leslie Uggams

Mabel King

Roscoe Lee Browne

Rex Ingram

Jim Kelly

Lynn Hamilton

Whitey's Lindy Hoppers

Gary Coleman

Darnell Williams

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I would love to see one on Paul Mooney. Despite being a legend he is soo underrated. He deserves a special.

TASKAE

And at some point, we gotta do a whole episode about Ray-Ray-mom-n-them. That's how important some of us think we are. popcorn

Peaches & Herb

Rick James

Angie Stone

Diahann Carol? She is a Pioneer, she does not have an "Unsung" story from her decades long career..She "schooled" us on Oprah's "Master Class" series....She's an "Oprah Legend"....I don't think there is a Diane/Diana that did not achieve Fame (Including Dianne Reeves)...That's a Powerful Name...

For "Unsung Hollywood" I would like to see them do..

"Car Wash"

"A Soldier's Story"

"The Wiz"

"The Last Dragon"

Any of the Spike Lee movies

"Lady Sings The Blues"

"Boys In The Hood"

Any of the 1970's-80' sitcoms ("Good Times","The Jeffersons")

For "Unsung"

SWV

Cameo..(Larry from what I understand refuses to do it)

Kid And Play

Slave

EnVouge

Brothers Johnson

Chaka Khan

George Benson

RUN DMC (not sure if one was done on them already)

Jeffrey Osbourne

Digital Underground

Natalie Cole

They did both Behind The Music and A&E's Biography. There also a documentary called 2 Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay. I doubt Unsung would have anything that's not in the others.

George Benson

He just put out a book. If you want to watch something, then he did an interview a few years ago about his career on Al Jazeera.

I think there was a True Hollywood Stories on Good Times (Or on the Bio Channel.)

There's a Boyz In Tha Hood film hitting theathers this year. I expect a documentary to follow.

Kid N Play had a Life After and plut theyre doing House Party. That should cover Kid N Play.
