I'm sure Paul McCartney's fans really want a song about Kanye's daughter sung by Eiffel 65.

"Only One promises to be the first product in what a West spokesperson told Rolling Stone is "a prolific musical collaboration between these two legendary artists."

PLEEEEASE Kanye, put your ego to the side and use your brains, you've got access to one of the all time great vocalists: Let Paul do all the singing. You know anyone in their right mind, if they had a choice of vocalist between you and Paul McCartney to sing on their track, would never in a million years pick you. Be smart, like you know you are. You do the rapping and production. It might actually be a cool project...

Kanye can't sing period, whether he's scream-singing (ouch!) or using autotune. Even Paul can't help him. razz

Kayne can't sing, but he is a good vocalist. Real emotion comes through in his voice here, and I'd take that over some bland lifeless Sam Smith type vocals (I saw on some other board, someone said he should have let Sam Smith sing it). This is a personal song that relates directly to Kanye West, it would seem false for him to give it up for some 'better' singer to sing. Imagine McCartney singing, 'tell Nori about me'. And yeah he uses autotune, but it's as much for effect as it is to mask any bad singing.

One of Kanye West's best songs I reckon.

The song is very sweet. They should have shared the vocals with Sir Paul singing some parts and Kanye rapping some parts. That would have sounded much better.

Why are people whining about a rapper using auto tune? Kanye can't sing...isn't that what auto tune is supposed to be for?

no, not really

auto tune was really designed as a tool to clean up a performance that had a few bum notes (in an overly simplistic way of putting it)

How pitch correction tools like auto tune and melodyne are judged generally is if nobody can tell they're being used. That's easier to achieve if the vocalist is close to the note

obviously auto tune was then used creatively as an effect

but most people seem to have this idea that the robot voice thing is what auto tune is all about. It's not.

and the fact that it's used by people who can't sing is unfortunate imo. Just another nail in the coffin of musicianship

Kanye can't sing? Then dude..... Don't sing

I'd say is the other way around if you're going to put it that way. Kanye is a good singer but a terrible vocalist. This song is a mess regardless.

Does anyone else remember the Michael Jackson VS Beatles VS Elvis popularity thread we had here maybe 2 years ago?

In that thread, I maintained that Michael was more globally popular.

I got savagely attacked by a group of people in that thread who INSISTED that The Beatles were equally well known.

I pointed out that there's barely a country in the world you can go to where people don't know who Michael Jackson is, and the same can't be said about The Beatles.

Well, look at what we have here.

And this is in AMERICA, not parts of the world where a lot of people don't have access to Western media or much internet access.

I've been to some of those places and they damn sure know who MJ is. I bet every last one of these Twitter folks know MJ.

So my point is proven, really.

So many on the board claim to hate kanye. But are the first to listen to his new song. And keep on talking about it despite ''hating'' it smile i honestly love these type of reactions. Your boy prince used to get the same type of reaction back in the day.

This is a reaosn i love artists like Kanye. They provide such a split reaction when they release something. And everyone doesn't just kiss ass and say it's good. And i know no matter how many orgers claim to hate kanye. They will always be the first in his threads biggrin

I would have had Kanye rap the verses and Paul sing a chorus. Shame that such a lovely song is so poorly crafted that it sounds thrown together at the last minute.

Michael, Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine.

He didn't say the Jackson Five though....he meant MJ solo.

I know he meant Jackson solo. It was a bit off topic, but they're a hugely famous group and I know a lot of their songs, but I couldn't name them individually (okay, thinking about it, I knew Tito's name), and I'm sure that's the same for a lot of people with The Beatles.

I have a feeling this won't be on the new album. IDK... Seems like a one off track too me. Which explains the rushedness of it i guess.

I don't care for autotune but I don't mind it whem it's applied properly. If there's any (more) songs with autotune like this on the new album then my expectations are going to continue their decline.

I don't think it will be too much. On Yeezus he used it on Blood On The Leaves. On MBDTF he used it on Lost In Thw World & Runaway. I'm hoping to see some more stripped down ballads on the album. He hasn't done too many of those on the last 2 albums

Shit, I deserve some mercy for listening to those horrible albums. Kanye isn't even a blip on my god damn radar anymore. He's like a Black Male Madonna...Unartistically provocative just to try to stay relevant, ruffle feathers, and draw attention to himself. Everything he does is like "Hey! Look at me!! And I absolutely REFUSE to listen to that "song". The fucking baby is gonna be sing next. Watch.
