She has become so fucking pathetic. Everyone seems to forget the n word bomb last year. Then the fact that she said her music being leaked. Was the same as being violated aka rape confused then constant posts about violation of her rights. And then comparing herself to Nelson Mandela. She's miss ''never apologize'' but had to apologize for the Mandela one. Claiming she wasn't comparing herself to him. But with that ego lol madonna is so hungry to stay relevant. and is constantly doing or saying dumb shit.

But if you try to criticize her. You are just ''jealous cause she's a strong woman'' a strong woman doesn't need to use racial slurs now does she? fuck her and her ego.

I disagree. People take this shit too seriously, overthink, and need to lighten up. Somebody mocks up a Mandela / MLK photo and she reposts it, so what? She admires them, and considers them "Rebels", good for her. Lennon, Marley, Kahlo; rad. Great roll models. What's the big fucking deal, really?

.

Some day soon we;re going to want to stop being so outraged all the time, over everything. It's really not good for your skin, or your stomach.

Exactly.People are so sensitive and uptight these days, and are so quick to claim that someone is "racist".People need to stop taking everything so damn seriously.

It's not in any way racist, but I do think she has a "taste-level" problem, both in her music and her media personality. She's pretty damn tacky sometimes - but I'm sure that's her goal smile

Madonna is an extreme personality.I can truly see why some people get offended at things that she says and does.As a longtime fan,I "get" what she's trying to do lol I understood why she did the Sex book, lol. The general public doesn't always understand the point she's trying to make. They don't get the irony or the humor of it.That's why social media can be tricky for someone like her.

The black wires don't represent any kind of bondage or S&M theme. They represent the mainstream society and the status quo that try to stop people like MLK and Mandela from expressing themselves. The rebels rebel against the constraints of mainstream society and conventional thinking by using their heart. I'm surprised that people aren't intelligent to get the meaning of the imagery. If the black cords were meant to be demeaning she wouldn't have put them on her own face.

If this offends you and you can't understand the meaning maybe you should cancel your order maybe you aren't intelligent enough to appreciate Madonna's music and art in the first place.

Think I'm a bit more old school (at 34!) and I'm still holding on to the old tradition of getting hold of a physical CD/LP on release day and running home to give it a first listen. Had so many great moments with her previous albums with the first play through, its nice to keep the tradition going...

a. you're just wrong. madonna has used s/m bondage imagery damn near since day one....at this point there's nothing unique or interesting about it. it was more effective as an image when it was JUST HER. she's diluted the effectiveness and it mapde perfect sense when it was just her.

b. she;s using this to sell her album, and its racial trolling. period. to someone who is black those wires on mlk's face are demeaning. there are alot of ways to celebrate rebels...this isn't art its culturally insensitive especially in usa rt now.

c. just because she says its not bondage imagery doesnt mean it isn't. IT IS.

d. as far as understanding madonnas 'art' she has mined gay, black and latino culture since day one - to her credit she did help bring gay culture out from underground which has helped in moving gay culture into the mainstream

e. she trvializes nelson mandela, and martin luther king by using them as marketing constructs, like it or not - she knew exactly what she was doing, and its as low as you can go really.

f. madonna isnt really a damn rebel, let her go 'rebel' in a place where its actually rebellion to do someting ie: pussy riot...

g. in a country where a black young man was lynched for dating a white woman in 2014...using MLK sporting madonnas non-bondage bondage on his face is really just making a mockery of what MLK stood for because the USA is racing backwards at the speed of light, RIGHT NOW....and thinking for one hot second that waht MLK DIED FOR and on par with Madonnas 'celebration' of rebel hearts shines a light on how far she really is from whats happening in the usa and how little she has to care about it.

you'll never see madonna risk herself for anything that wont make her money. the idea that shes a rebel is laughable. so if you're going to insult my intelligence you'd best realize your stock pr answers are some hot mess bullshit.

- it makes sens for madonna to represent herself in this way, it makes sense in terms of what women are cultrally expected to be say and do....once she casts her net outside herself, she becomes inauthentic and desperate and she took a half decent idea and crapped on it. madonna has always been a#1 about HERSELF. she has never risked ANYTHING other than her nudity, you realize that rt? please let me know what REAL RISKS madonna has suffered for her rebel heart?

the dixie chicks have actually risked more and suffered more than madonna ever will.

Terrig, sorry you are upset, but I think this is nothing but faux outrage. She posted pictures that FANS (or just regular Instagram people) made to symbolize people who were rebellious. She did a lot of people, not just Black civil rights leaders. It's hypocritical that nobody cared until the people she honored (in my opinion) happened to be Black.

That said, if I managed her social media account, I wouldn't have put up the pictures. In this time and age, I can see how people misinterpret things. People also love to "be offended" because it makes them feel better about themselves for some reason. You can say she was insensitive, but not racist in any way. She had good inentions.

As for Madonna not being a rebel, please. How old are you? She "appropriated" gay culture when gay people were seen as villains in the United States during the 1980s. It was a different time. She helped make gay culture "cool." And she wasn't appropriating it; she LIVED it. She was crucified in the media for her support of gay people and gay images. They even started rumors she had AIDS. For that, she is indeed a rebel heart.

Please, let's be outraged at REAL racists instead of trying to develop faux controversy to further our cause.

I'm 51 - ....have been there the whole ride and a wearing a wedding dress rolling on the floor and giving your life for civil rights are two entirely different thngs. the faux outrage argument is lame as well...people should understand and be outrgaed by the significance of that RIGHT NOW.

you wouldnt have put the pictures up if you were managing her account. That says it all really.

It's like I said earlier.....social media is a risky thing for someone like Madonna,a bold woman who has alot of extreme views.People are going to misunderstand/misinterpret what she's really trying to say. They're not going to always "get" the message. But I agree with your last point...for the most part, this is nothing more than faux outrage by people who probably hate her anyways. These people should be outraged by all of the "real" examples of racism that's going on right now.

I've loved her since day one, but she is older, and may I add also raising 2 black children in america who are going to be asked how they feel about this at school and maybe even later on. It's good she apologized and isn't comparing herself to them, and I get what rebel heart means cause it seems cutesy, but she's smart enough to know that the images would cause controversy, and nobody needs madonna of all people or her fans to preach what these figures did for society, she's not in a position of power to do so this time, just my opinion. She needs to just make good music again and leave the self-righteous antics behind, and this is coming from a madonna fan. Honestly, she had more common sense and better music when married to guy, I miss that madonna and 80's madonna now.

I love the song "Illuminati" but I have one minor complaint about it.....

Considering that this is a controversial, intriguing topic she's singing about, the lyrics in the second verses are too tame. It's as if during the second half of the song, she abandons the controversial aspect of it in favor of predictable lyrics about dancing....

let the music take you out of control

it's time to feel it in your body and soul, come on let's go

Earlier in the song, she mentions the New World Order, the founding fathers, and how the media is "misleading us all".Really interesting stuff! I would have liked her to give us some insight as the song progresses.Or maybe she was scared to go too deeply into this topic?

thoughts? hmmm

I hear what you're saying about the laziness but she's probably also implying that people are "blind" about the illuminati and too busy dancing...or they should stop worrying about the whole conspiracy, shut up and dance lol

I don't think she feels there's anything to go deeper into, because she believes the whole Illuminati idea is nonsense. At least that's the way I interpret it!

.

BTW, have the new songs been getting any radio airplay? Or is she still blacklisted? razz When it comes to music, I only listen to Sirius-XM, not terrestrial radio. I hear her a lot on Utopia, and on "80's on 8" (seemingly a lot more now than before the new songs came out). But nothing on BPM. Maybe some other channel(s) are playing her?

The Inside Story of How Madonna Turned Her 'Rebel Heart' Leak Into a Global Hit

By Andrew Hampp | January 09, 2015 10:01 AM EST (Billboard)
The Inside Story of How Madonna Turned Her 'Rebel Heart' Leak Into a Global Hit

On Dec. 16, Madonna was in her New York apartment when she received word that more than a dozen unfinished demos for her forthcoming album had leaked. Her manager, Guy Oseary, was just returning to his Beverly Hills estate when he got the news. The album, Rebel Heart, was set for a late-April release, and thanks to a meticulous marketing plan and an inspired group of collaborators (includingDiplo, Kanye West and Avicii), buzz was strong on the singer's 13th studio full-length.

But now, all bets were off. Madonna shot off a fiery post on her Instagram accountlambasting the leak as "artistic rape," Oseary got on the phone, and both sprung into action. "I don't recall that phone coming off my ear from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m.," he says.

High-profile leaks and other security breaches have been a scourge of the entertainment industry for the past 15 years: from Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in 2001 and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III in 2007 to Madonna's own "Give Me All Your Luvin'" in 2011 -- which resulted in an unidentified fan's arrest in Spain, although he was later released -- not to mention the hacker group Anonymous' threats to rapper Iggy Azalea in 2014's final weeks. But this Madonna leak was unusually severe, including images and videos as well as music. However, the singer and her team's quick response may have set a new precedent for how the industry can mobilize in an effort to combat them.

On the morning of Dec. 17, Steve Berman, vice chairman of Madonna's label distributor Interscope, was on the phone with her and Oseary. "She was in a very angry, upset, emotional place," Berman recalls. He had visited her in New York the week prior to hear some of the album's first finished songs with label president/CEO John Janick. "She told me, 'Steve, I care about my music. I can't have the songs being heard the wrong way.' "

Berman was confident that Apple's iTunes could be engaged to turn around an official release of finished Rebel Heart tracks on a dime, even though the digital retailer's servers would effectively shut down for the year on Dec. 19, just two days later. But he faced two major hurdles: pushback from the upper rafters at Universal Music Group ("Should we just wait and do it all at the top of the year?" was the response from one executive) and the availability of iTunes vp contentRobert Kondrk, who was already on vacation with his family in Mexico.

During the next 48 hours, Kondrk was able to help Apple greenlight a Rebel Heartpreorder that would include six instant-gratification songs for download by midnight ET on Dec. 20 -- including "Living for Love," the set's first single, which was initially intended for a Valentine's Day release (and will now be promoted to radio on Feb. 10). However, Madonna had to make sure the six songs were in finished form, so she holed up in her New York studio working on the final mixes into the wee hours of the morning of Dec. 18. "There was no time to call any of the producers -- nothing," says Oseary. "Just her final mastering sessions."

The result of Rebel Heart's 48-hour turnaround? The album preorder topped the iTunes charts in more than 40 countries -- including the United States, where three of the six released tracks entered Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songschart dated Jan. 3, despite just two days of eligibility. To date, the six tracks have sold a combined 131,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music, with preorders for Rebel Heart at a robust (considering the situation) 50,000 to 60,000, according to industry estimates. "We know that in today's world, having a top 10 album with no promotion is really hard," Oseary says. "It's pretty... exciting isn't the right word, but it's rewarding to see it so well-received."

Still, Madonna's work is far from over. There's still at least one more preview track from Rebel Heart on its way before the album's March 10 release (likely due Feb. 8, the night of the Grammy Awards, Oseary says), and an official video for "Living for Love," to be filmed in late January. Plus, there's an ongoing investigation into the source of the leaks (another 14 tracks hit the Internet on Dec. 24), which, given their volume, seem too far-reaching to emanate from a usual suspect like a studio staffer or a backing musician. Neither Oseary nor a UMG representative would confirm that the investigation has resulted in a police report. Oseary's only comment on the matter was, "We are working really hard to solve this crime."

This article first appeared in the Jan. 17 issue of Billboard.
