Nice.Too bad they didn't include this as a bonus track on the I'm A Rainbow remaster.

a question for Donna fans....if the 2-LP I'm A Rainbow album had been released in the fall of 1981 (as planned),what songs would you have chosen as the singles? hmmm

these are the 4 singles I would have chosen,in this order:

"I Believe In You"---catchy,R&B-flavored track that would have easily reached the Top 10.Perfect leadoff single.

"Back Where You Belong"---another R&B-flavored track...this one has a strong chorus and great lyrics.A midtempo gem.

"Walk On (Keep On Walkin)"---this one is alot of fun

"End Of The Week"---In 1981,the rock band Loverboy hit pay dirt with their song "Workin For The Weekend".People like songs about partying after a long week at work.Donna's song would have tapped into that market.Plus,it's extremely catchy and fun.Would have been a pop smash.

They'll include it on the 2nd reissue. You know, they have to stretch these things out, Soul. Get as much milk as they can... Hmmm...that sounded disrepectful. Yet and still... Anyhoo... This sounds like the exact same vocal used on the released version. An alternate mix, yes, but beyond demo stages. There's an alternate mix of "People Talk" as well. I wonder if these are the mixes that were on the infamous bootleg.

If I were the head of Donna's label at the time and the album as we know it was presented to me as the finished work I would've sent "Romeo" and "You To Me" to pop radio, "Highway Runner" to rock radio, and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" to adult contemporary radio.

Yep,and I have heard it before. It features Donna and her sisters doing some type of spoken/rap part in the middle of the song.I wish I had a bootleg copy of this album in the 80s.I was so curious about it for many years, but didn't know how to find a copy lol this was the days before the Internet, lol

I had heard a rumor (on a Donna fansite) that "Leave Me Alone" was earmarked to be the first single, but not sure I believe it.Your choices are interesting.

I'm an interesting fellow.

Donna's fans love them some rumors.

But I can definately envision LMA as the first single. It's very "Call Me" (Blondie). Maybe a little too "Call Me".
