Kendrick debuted an untitled new track alongside a band featuring Thundercat andBilal. The track was reportedly produced by Astronote. Stephen joked that since he was the last-ever musical act on the "Report", "Paul McCartney, R.E.M., Jack White, and Nas were your opening acts." They also discussed why Kendrick prefers being referred to as a writer instead of a rapper and what he wants to communicate through his songs. Stephen also recommended that he turn "Swimming Pools" into a Dewar's commercial and asked about his "stage name" Kendrick Lamar. "Why did you decide to name yourself after Anna Kendrick and Senator Lamar Alexander?"
I really like the direction Kendrick is going, his most recent single "i" was great and i'm really diggin this new track too
