Y'all are always first to hear new songs. From artists you supposedly hate

Y'all say you pay Kanye, Beyonce, Miley, Katy, GaGa, Rihanna etc. No mind... yet are the first in threads about new songs or just threads in general about them.

I know y'all actually do pay them mind. But try to act too cool for school in front of the kids. I know y'all can't wait to trash their new songs, albums, public mishandling etc.

I don't go into a million threads about artists i hate. Unless it's one i used to like awhile back. But sucks now... and i have some hope.

Some of y'all are secret stans and it's cute.

I would never seek out nonsense like FourFiveSixSeconds by Kanye West and Rihanna featuring Paul McCartney if not for the corporate machine littering it all over basically every site (eventually trickling down to the org).

If anything alot of the shit posts are about shit news provided by shit organizations paid for by shit corporations.

But news about, say, Rosie Gaines medical situation is bascially ignored. Weird.

But news about, say, Rosie Gaines medical situation is bascially ignored. Weird.

But you still check it out and comment and will probably do so when albums come out. If you pay them no mind... why hear the song? or comment in the thread? Rosie Gains rather sad medical attention may not be as popular. But you still posted in both threads though.

Thats it! I loved "New" and "Hope For The Future". I love Macca but the Kanye stuff sounds so weird. One of the things I love about the org is that its sort of like the record stores used to be - a place to chat about things people in your life don't usually care to touch on.

Its also the "evening news" complex. The shock and horror is so much easier to focus on, comment on, and dwell on than the good things and positive news.

A lot of people here are negative. That's all. They don't like Janet Jackson, but yet her threads get a bunch of the same comments over and over like a scratched record and so do Beyoncé, Madonna, R. Kelly, award shows, Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, etc. People make threads celebrating someone's album flopping or "today's music sucks". The complainers never make any threads themselves. I don't make threads about stuff I don't like, and don't consider anything a guilty pleasure or cheesy. I either like it or not and don't say one act is superior to another, and say things that make no sense like "real music by real musicians". All music is real, it doesn't matter if it was made by a person or a computer or it someone beating on buckets and rocks.

Message boards and blog comment sections aren't for the satisfied. They're for the bitter and disgruntled. *shrugs*

I buy 100', of cd's................not all of them I like. In fact, most of them I don't like.

That new Kanye song gets played all the time on my local R&B station, so even if you listen casually you're gonna hear it.

I do like a lot of Kanye but I still think my criticisms of him are valid.

Is this a thread to justify Kanye's weak new song?

It's not to justify him or anyone else. Just that i've noticed in my years on the org. So many people claim to hate an artist so much. Then are the first ones listening to their albums, songs, interviews, and videos.

the four five seconds song frustrates me because i really like rihanna's vocal delivery... i wish kanye wasn't on it

i go into stuff with an open mind... i dig it or i don't... and either way, i'll say what i think on a sub-forum dedicated to the discussion of music

response to them is generally predictable and a little overblown. Yes some threads

can be monotonous but this is a message board after all. Unfortunately the majority of news and sports articles on the internet are tied to some social media outlet like Facebook which there are far more negative comments than here on the org. I've seen folks use profanity on FB and Twitter which is far worse than what you see here which can be seen by prospective or current job employers. How do you know the folks you see as complainers never make threads themselves?

Are you that observant of these orgers posts to notice? Just asking. When was the last time anyone here made a statement that real music

is played by real musicians? It's been a long time since I've seen that statement here. All music isn't real. Some of it can be subjective interpretation depending on the subject itself. Someone beating on books, a desk, or rocks is more often than not a sound. Sound can be defined in different ways by the dictionary one of which is meaningless noise while music is often defined as the art of arranging sounds in time

to produce a continuous unified composition. I played trumpet in school. If I take my trumpet and play with the sheet music to Night Fever and I blow a line of bad notes. That's not music. That's terrible sound(meaningless noise). Ususally that's what orgers mean when they compare a classic song by Donny Hathaway versus something a rapper may throw together over beats and saying anything that comes to mind especially senseless profane language. It's really not hard to see or define the difference.

They don't in this section. I don't look at the other parts of this site, so I don't know what they do there. There's a comment about "real musicians" in the recent Blacks & Rock thread #85.

But i actually have some purpose with those threads. But people usually don't get what i'm trying to say. No matter how many times i try to explain it. So i just abandon ship on a lot of them

Mickey is cool beans, just serious all the time. He is our unofficial music historian ever since TheAudience left us poor and orphaned.

Regarding P&R, I hear ya....

I must say, I do miss Timbo....I used to call him that,

He had lots of knowledge to share. Identity posts some great articles too. There's still lots of good info in Non-Prince.

ALWAYS try to get people to listen to new stuff. But it falls on deaf ears Lastdecember cries weekly about how horrible music and music videos are. One time i replied with like 15 modern music videos which were amazing. And one time replied with new music that's amazing. Of course he never responded to me. Cause he probably never bothered to listen to it. And opps to keep complaining about how bad music is nowadays.

I've even tried to start threads about 80's Japanese, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese music. Once again no replies and deaf ears
