Who's "we"? Speak for yourself.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

CynicKill

She is a charisma-less performer, with a struggling live vocal.

But her songs are catchy so...

I'm not a fan of her music and I find her public persona annoying, but I do admire the fact that she plays an instrument.

Not a fan and I don't think she "sucks" that much, given the quality of the music currently on the charts, she just makes lightweight, safe, funny and surely catchy pop songs. It's not even the kind of music I listen to, though you can find me humming a song or two biggrin but what I like its that she's the "safe" one. I'm glad to see my niece and nephews listening to "safe" music like this (along one direction) instead of, say, Lil Wayne or Beyoncé or Miley Cirus.
The subject of Taylor Swift has been discussed here many times. There's a public for this "genre" and there are faaaaar worse music out there (just check your top 40) and she ain't walking around half naked in her video to sell. And that's a huge plus for me.
Her voice sucks live? She ain't that good at singing? So were Madonna, Janet, Britney and TLC ... But they had respectable careers and whether we like them or not, they made an impact in the industry. Let's give the little Taylor sometimes... (Well maybe she'll start taking he clothes off around 40 lol)

She's just what over 50% of the young female population want to be like: really thin without much of a personality to differentiate them from others. Many young females could photoshop their faces on a picture of her body and see themselves in her. She sells more records than many others because her audience can relate to her better than to all those oversexed performers. Sex does sell records, but only to a certain point. Plus, it doesn't hurt that many of her songs are about ex-boyfriends and "kicking them to the curb", or however you'd like to phrase it. Stuff like that is what 15-25 year old girls / young women spend a considerable time thinking, speaking about, messaging to each other... you name it. Then there's the obligatory "feel good" song like "shake it off" which is about that other aspect of young people's lives, partying during the weekends and trying to get rid of the angst you're going through.

I don't hate her and I don't mind her music, but her music is just one type of "angst music", and not really in any kind of an artistic way. That's the impression I've gotten from the singles though, I don't know what her album tracks are like.

1. I do not hate/dislike Taylor Swift. I'm just not a fan of her music.

2, I think she has a pretty face (especially those lips!) and sexy long legs. However, she has no booty OR ass at all.

Excuse me, but Taylor made a huge mistake wearing THAT!^

She's an okay singer/performer. I like her, mostly, for her catchy lyrics. She's very good at that. I have three of her songs. That's it.

She made the most interesting pop record of the year, IMO, and she writes all of her songs herself, and plays guitar and piano, so that's more than you can say for a lot of her peers.

She's a damn dork and her "music" is dorky. She takes "it's hip to be square" to a harrowing level. Used to be a time when this brand of Disney-esque cheese would have no place on the radio.
