Masta Ace vs. Paul Jackson

strange choice, but fucking hell, both suckas play with their current crews next week on the same day a few minutes walk from my home, and since I can't split myself or use time travel to see both shows, I have to choose.....

I just love the old Master Ace stuff, but haven't yet heard his recent output with those other MCs as EMC. what's the verdict?

and Paul Jackson? one of Herbie Hancocks classic Headhunters, goddammit, how could I miss him?

please tell me, quick! I should get the tickets today lol

I´m a big fan of Masta Ace and make sure I catch every show when he´s in my area. The last two tours he did around here were great, albeit the second one was very similar to the first one but hey, I don´t expect any gimmicks. The last time I saw him he also performed songs from his newer album that he dedicated to his late mother.

He took his time to hang out with fans to take pictures and sign autographs, my brother and his crew did some b-boying on stage, and the merchandise was good and interesting and not overpriced, and Wordsworth sold me a copy of his album. lol And of course I also bought Ace´s last album and chatted a bit with him about music and the world in general.

I have never heard of Paul Jackson so I can´t say anything about him but what I can tell you is that Masta Ace puts his heart and talent into every single show I´ve seen, whether it´s for 2000 fans or just a mere 200, and he is a very grateful and humble artist and a great lyricist with deep lyrics.

If you´ve never seen the Masta before, make sure you see him at least once in your lifetime.

Just remembering that last show I saw is bringing back good feelings right now. wink

Go and see Masta Ace!

lol

thanks for the info, and yeah, I decided to see Master Ace, first time for me

I would maybe go for Jackson if it was some 70s retro funk show instead of just a trio

and in the end it's not so much a decision between two artists, but rather two genres.

I love Jazz (in most of its forms)

....but I LIVE and DIE for (Old School) Hip Hop, so there lol

oh, and this will be a rather "private" show, the venue for this show does not hold 2000 fans, not even 200... I'd say it's around 80.. maybe 100 maximum if it's packed and squeezed. Bilal was there a week ago, and there were not more than 60 people in the audience
